Never once heard Pat blame DEC, Mother Nature, or the homeowners. Please cite your sources.
Disbanding the storm water committee--what exactly did they do that isn't being done by the engineering consultants, except be fodder to the likes of Ed & Cathy?
The $600k on the 840 project has no more of a connection to the storm water monies than the police budget has to the dpw budget.
Try and keep it intelligent rather than emotional.
Its obvious from your response you have never experienced the significant emotional event of having your home flooded and then have to deal with a town supervisor who is more focused on helping out of town millionaires instead of helping New Hartford residents deal with this annual tragedy.

Right now we have a back log of storm water projects and not enough money to do them all, at least that is what Tyksinski tells us. If that'a true, why didn't use that $600,000 on us to protect our homes? What good does that road do for us? Provide access to the Hampton Inn? Why don't even get the tax dollars from the Hampton since Tyksinksi worked out a deal where Adler doesn't even have to pay property taxes on his hotel. Typical Tyksinski, leaves NH taxpayers underwater and broke. Its over and my neighbors and I can't wait until September 10th!

Cite where Tyksinski blames the DEC, Mother Nature, and homeowners for living near a creek.

Stop trying to equate road dollars with storm water funds.

Backmans plan for storm water is nothing but lip service all those things are occurring at present, none of which prevented my home from flooding during the last storm.

The bait and switch doesn't fly with me.

It looks like mother nature is reminding us this morning why New Hartford can't afford another spring with Tyksinski's storm water plan. Vote for Blackman today.

Your post might have validity if the flooding occurred every time it rains. However it's only when the storms come fast, fierce, and last for hours.

Flooding once a year is enough to convince me that Tyksinski doesn't have a plan. He could have used that $600,000 he used building a road for Larry Adler for storm water projects in New York Mills, Chadwicks and Washington Mills. So its small comfort that flooding may only happen once year. Pat does not care aboutt he average NH resident

It's Backman that has no plan---he's the one who thinks thats enforcing the MS4 is enough to stop the flooding----won't change a thing in the flood prone areas already getting hit.

I see wrip-wrap being done in Mud Creek (Royal Brook Lane in NYM) I see Beechwood moving on to Phase II.
I see work done on Woodberry
I see catch basins in the Hills of the Second Ward.

Backman wants a citizen's committee to "study" the problems. No thank you--

I'll take the engineers Pat hired to work on solutions instead!!

I see the arrogance of Tyksinski who doesn't consider Chadwicks, New York Mills and Washington Mills the "real New Hartford." Heck, I saw Don Backman campaigning in these areas the past week while Tyksinski was nowhere to be found. Why? Becuse Backman cares, and Tyksinski doesn't.
