Live in Chadwicks, Willowvale and Washington Mills? Wonder why your homes flood every year and despite promise after promise by Pat Tyskinski to do something about it but nothing changes. Wonder why Tyksinski can find $600,000 of YOUR tax money to build a road for multi-millionare Larry Adler but doesn't’ do anthing for you? Well now you have your answer. Below are comments from a commited Tyksinski-Romano supporter. They don’t believe that the hard working people of Chadwicks and Washington Mills represents the “real” New Hartford. So if you like getting ignored in favor of multi-millionaire developers who get your storm water money then keep voting for Tyksinski.
Here are quotes taken from this another thread on topics:

A Tyksinski-Romano supporter:
“Flooding in Chadwicks-if you want to live in a trailer park next to a creek, what do you expect?”
“Chadwicks trailer parks and people like Don Backman aren't representative of New Hartford townspeople. Although he has a following, he could never garner enough votes to get elected townwide.”

“Overall, Pat has done a great job in comparison to Reed and I'm not sure an elected Backman would be much better. Pandering to the trailer park folks in the low rent district doesn't make you a bad guy, it's just not going to win you an election. On a personal level, Don is a nice guy, but his professional appearance is lacking. He may have appeal to the NASCAR crowd, Joe Six Pack or Larry the Cable guy down in Willowville, but it's not going to be enough to win the primary.”

Why would you put more money into a section 8 housing area where welfare trash resides? Not exactly a good use of tax payer monies. My vote goes to Pat!

If you live in Chadwicks, Wilowvalle and Washington Mills here is some more arrogant slop from the Tysksinski-Romano crowd. As long as Tyksinski is in office, Chadwicks will never be seen as a part of the "real" New Hartford. Fortunately on September 10th you can use your vote to send Tyksinski a message saying otherwise.

A quote from Tyksinski-Romano supporter:

"But as for Pat, he's a way better choice than no-solution Backman who seems to have the flannel shirt wearing crowd piled into the bed of a rusted out F-150.Have you ever taken a ride down to Spanish Harlem in Chadwicks by the park? Welfare central!Baby mommas, strollers, screaming kids, garbage strewn everywhere...Just dirty and filthy all over."

Don has had many years to improve the Chadwicks area long before Pat took office. You can't blame Pat for the ignorance of those who choose to live along side of a creek flood basin. How is the despicable living conditions in Chadwicks and the flooding problem now suddenly Pat's problem anymore than you can blame Cuomo or Halbritter for that matter?

Don has been fighting for us as long he has been in office. Tyksinski, as Town Supervisor, has for years funneled Storm water repair funds and infrastructure improvements away from Chadwicks and Washington Mills and we have had enough of the flooding. September 10th cant get here fast enough.

What has Don fought for? Your part of town looks like a bomb went off. Listen to your own words...you have big problems. How is this Pat's fault? I thought Don was fighting for you? That's like the city of Utica dumping all it's money into Cornhill. Makes no logical sense. In fact it makes about as much sense as your stupid choice to live there and continuing to elect Backman the Cable Guy!

Keep posting and reminding everyone in Chadwicks we don't matter to Pat Tyksinski. On September 10th the people of Chadwicks will remind Tyksinki and Romano that we will not be ignored or disrespected anymore.

Keep avoiding the question: How long has Chadwicks been underwater while Backman represented the area???

"Town Supervisor Patrick Tyksinski said stormwater projects already being planned won’t be delayed, but the flooded areas in Chadwicks and Washington Mills have to become the priority."

Why didn't Backman fix these problems before Pat?

That's easy. It's because Pat Tyksinski only takes care of the wealthy and well connected areas of New Hartford. If your not a member of the Yahnundasis Country Club or a wealthy out of town developer like Larry Adler you are at the bottom of the priority list for storm water repairs. Thanks again fore reminding everyone that if you live in Chadwicks, Willowvalle or Washington Mills you should not vote for Pat Tyksinski unless you don't mind your house flooding again year after year

So thanks for confirming what we already know: By Pat Tyksinski's own admission Chadwicks and Washington Mills have not been the priority. Believe me, here in Chadwicks we have known that for a long time. You had your chance Pat. Chadwicks and Washington Mills will be the storm water repair priority after Don Backman gets elected, guaranteed.

Tyksinki supporter: "Go ahead and vote for some redneck hillbilly looking character to be your next Town Supervisor. If you think crime is up in the ghetto parts of New Hartford where he currently represents, wait until it spreads like wild fire across the rest of the town and something terrible happens to your wife or daughter under his rule.

Just wait. The NHPD is going to have to double its current size making storm water costs pale in comparison."

So thanks again for the reminder that Tyksinksi doesn't respect or care about Chadwicks, Washington Mills, or New York Mills. Time for Don Backman

I can't believe that Pat sees those of us who live outside the village this way but he has certainly ignored. We need to speak out and make our voices heard!

From the bottom of Don's website:

I think that translates to "I don't have to keep my campaign promises."

Thanks for the link! Now I can see Don's storm water plan. Sounds like Don is off to a good start:
From Don's web page:

There are several areas in our town that suffer stormwater damage repeatedly. If we are to correct these problems, a plan needs to be drafted detailing the problems, how they are proposed to be handled and a timeline associated with each project.

I don't claim to have all the answers but I have a pretty good idea of where to start:

1: Bring back the stormwater committee. Investigate, assess, rate and prioritize problem areas in town. Report to the town board monthly with findings and recommended action. Appoint members as soon as possible.

2: Expand public education as per the MS4 storm water law requirement. Educate and inform property owners along creeks and waterways how to remove branches and debris on their property; assist them as able and needed. Hold instructional seminars in affected areas. Follow up periodically with inspections of waterways.

3: Freeze the issuance of building permits in developments with continual serious problems until adequate stormwater remediation is in place by the developer.

4: Enforce MS4 regulations on new development. Codes officer or engineering consultant (currently B&L) report to the town board monthly on MS4 violations or potential SW problems created by development.

5: Inventory of all creeks, streams, waterways and watersheds. Identify adjacent landowners. Ask landowners to sign a maintenance easement with the town. Compile list of existing and needed easements and assign town attorney to report to board a list of easements we should consider taking in high-priority areas.

6: Investigate grant money through NYS-EFS and other agencies for stabilizing Sauquoit creek.

I promise to work on improving stormwater infrastructure in the town and will propose a line-item addition to our budget with an annual dollar amount to specifically address stormwater.

I'm certain there are other good ideas out there on how to get a handle on stormwater and I am willing to listen to every one of them.
Thank you.

That's no plan. All of those things are already in place in one way or another. Except the storm water committee, which has been replaced by an engineering consulting firm specializing in storm water issues.

Don wants another storm water committee so his buds Ed & Cathy have another group to film & bully-the library meetings are getting old--not generating enough activity on Cathy's website.

Hey Don-why don't you try attending a Sauquoit Creek Basin meeting once in awhile and see what's happening with Sauquoit Creek on a regional level. Oops, sorry, I forgot your vision begins, ends, and is contained fully within the confines of the first ward ONLY. So silly of me to forget :( I'm so bad, so very very bad.

Pat Tyksinki's Storm Water Plan. Of course this should be very familiar to most us who have already had to live with the consequences but here it goes.

1. Disband the Citizens Storm Water Committee. After all, Pat knows best where those funds be diverted to in order to pay back campaign donations.

2. Blame DEC

3. Blame Mother Nature for making it rain (who would have thought?)

4. Blame the homeowners in New York Mills, Chadwicks, Washington Mills, Willowvalle for choosing to live near a creek

5. Build a $600,000 taxpayer funded access road for a millionaire developer who could pay for it himself.(Heck, you don't get rich spending your money. You get rich getting others to spend their money on you)

6. If all else fails, promise to make Chadwicks and Wshington Mills the priority for NEXT year.

I feel safer already

Never once heard Pat blame DEC, Mother Nature, or the homeowners. Please cite your sources.

Disbanding the storm water committee--what exactly did they do that isn't being done by the engineering consultants, except be fodder to the likes of Ed & Cathy?

The $600k on the 840 project has no more of a connection to the storm water monies than the police budget has to the dpw budget.

Try and keep it intelligent rather than emotional.
