I went last night and it's a really nice place. They did a lot to the inside and out. My only issue was the food and the service. I orderd Ruben rolls and they were cold and for dinner I got a sheppards pie and it was disgusting. My server was the owners daughter. Which at numerous occasion she made that clear. I asked speak to whom ever and she said he's out side drinking. I'll get him. I will never go back and this place won't last long.

Gee, we had a wonderful experience Friday night. Lots of people, lots of laugh and pretty reasonable. Maybe you don't want the place to last? Competition? Nice place to whomever owns it!! See ya again Friday.:)

I went last Thursday, the first night they were open. Food was good, service was good. Actually thought they had to much staff. I'll probably go again. I wish them luck, nobody has been able to make a go of it there, heard the landlord is a piece of work, from several people.

I went there as well, I also was not impressed with the food or the service. If they are still around in a few months I will give them a second chance. Give them a little time to get their act together.

Hey Foods, I consider myself a foodie too (5'8", 450+). Do you know which nights they have dancers? Please advise.

Had a great time there the other night. Staff was polite and on the spot. Never had to wait for anything and the food was good. We sat outside too - most outdoor places you are waiting for servers to come out, we didn't have to.

I think they will be here for a long time. If the shithole known as Piers & Black is still here, there's no reason an actual good place to eat won't last.

John Swift is not the owner. The owners are Dave Swift and Mr Wood who used to manage Delmonicos.

The food is good. I love the outside seating.

Its nice to have something downtown again besides Ancora.

I don't recall EXACTLY what the specials were, but the draught is very reasonable. The contractor they used was super polite when he came to the print shop to pick up gifts he'd made for the owners(he told me the prices, but I didn't write them down), and the woman who helps run it was equally nice when she picked up the menus. Give it a shot. The most you'll be out is the cost of a few beers.

Yeah, Dischavios was a great joint back in the day. I hear that Swifts is going to have dancers a couple of nights a week - and maybe topless waitresses. Now that would be really old school!! I guess they're going that way because Hooters Utica won't be opening until 2013.
