I need to move into the North Utica, Marcy, Deerfield area. I am widowed and want to be near my grandson and daughter. Is there a reputable apartment building in the area? or one to stay away from? I really need some input. Thank you in advance. I want to stay away from riff-raff.

There are very few rentals available in N. Utica as most homes are occupied by the owners.

The only rentals are Parkedge Townhouses and Candle Wick Apartments - both on Herkimer Road. BUT - BOTH accept Section 8 tenants and have turned these places in another trashy and nosy Cornhill atmosphere.

if you are looking for somewhere good to rent do not goto these apts on herkimer road, they are full of crime and you dont want the cornhill trash next door to you, there are nice apartments in marcy on maynard by the moose lodge and there are some on 49, not sure if they are renting but check craigslist.org as well....best of luck to you but steer clear of any part of utica

Stay away from Schuyler Commons of Trenton Road. If you want to know why search for the thread on them on here. It is very eye opening.

Thanks everyone. I definitely will steer clear of Herkimer road. This is a tough area to find apartments!

there are some very nice apartment buildings in marcy area-most are rentted out to widowers, retirees. there is a few buildings on Maynard Drive-i believe 1 of them has a few apartments free. there is also some apartment complexes on Cavanaugh rd-with phone numbers posted to call and inquire-alot of them are very nice-locked facilites. hope that this helps

Just wondering if there are any new opinions since the last post? Looking to move into an apt in a safe area. Any advice? Please and thank you.

Your not going to find any nice apt complexes in utica... theres some in new hartford and clinton. your better off renting a nice 2 family house apartment. new hartford is only minutes from deerfield.
