My friend recently found out that her husband had cheated on her and is feeling down. I would like some ideas as to what I can do to cheer her up. I promised to take her out on Friday the 29th. Any and all ideas are appreciated. Thank you.

The most enjoyment here is driving through to get out of Utica, watch for jay walkers dressed in black walking knee deep in traffic, use the sidewalk that our great city gets shoveled every storm, NOT

There is a nice place to eat next to the Uptown Theater called Hadley's. Good food (try the rack of lamb), good service and a nice atmosphere. The resturant is attached to another place called the Balkin that has German food, but I don't know if it's any good.

Across the street is a coffee place to go afterward to have a nice quiet conversation. Your friend will need to vent, so order a double espresso and prepare to be a good listener. They also sell good chocolate and pastries.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually took a date to that coffee house once. It was nice.

That said I want this to be more "fun" than a "date" type thing. My friends believe that she used to have a crush on me long before she got married. I didn't see it but I still don't want to give her the wrong impression.

Me, I'm up for anything and can hang with the hardiest of partiers. I love excitement. She on the other hand is very conservative, family oriented, religious, doesn't drink, etc.
