I hope this sets the tone for future Teacher Contracts! It's about time Teachers get what they deserve.

They could have setted this two weeks before the school year started, but as they proved with their arrogance it's all about them and not the kids.

BOO HOO! Pay us more money or we won't teach the kids. Judging by the dropout rates in Chicago the teachers stopped teaching the kids decades ago.

If this is true, it's good to see middle class workers score a victory over our galtian overlords, especlially when corporate stooge and unmitigated douchbag rahm emmanual is involved.

Everybody should be accountable for educations not just the teachers.

NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Teacher Evaluations!!

It is TIME for those who want to run/control/hire/fire etc be forced into the classrooms as well to understand how difficult kids and the administration can be.

Yes, teachers should be held accountable, but so should everybody else who wants to get a paycheck from the schools or rule the schools!

I hope what's happening in Chicago doesn't embolden CSEA. Just what we need is for our local public employees to strike and demand more pay for the non-work and non-services that they perform.

If it wasn't for the schools and hospitals we would have a lot less good paying jobs in Utica.Thank God for the teaching jobs. Teachers pay taxes and support our community.
Amen

Unions are another form of organized crime. How can they possibly be good for education?

The only thing that will come from this is bankrupting the system and then the contact will be thrown out. So after that what good came from the greed

With that pack of dogs that those teachers have to put up with, I don't blame them for wanted to be compensated damn good for it. Its probably 20 percent ruining it for the whole system.

I agree. They looked pretty dressed down. When I taught I dressed professionally.

Teachers need to dress nicely and act better than the average Joe. Our students should look up to us. They need role models.

So glad I can let my hair down and have fun...a lot of fun!:)
