Why was he in Utica? Who expects the sheriff to deliver an accident report he can't even finish the wyman report! Why do you put up with incompetent, unnacountable lying scum like this for police?

Will Wolanin lie or disregard facts like in his dead kitten case where he saw "no connection" between the dead cat they found taped and burned by the park and Sullivan's kid they caught in the woman's room preparing to torture the cat with tape and a lighter?

WHITESTOWN —

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has yet to determine who is to blame for the collision of a motorcycle into a stopped patrol vehicle driven by Whitestown police Chief Donald Wolanin late Wednesday morning.

The operator of the motorcycle – Mary Tartaglia, 49, of Utica – was seriously injured after her westbound 1988 Kawasaki bike collided with the left rear of Wolanin’s town-owned Chevy Impala at about 11 a.m., Sheriff Robert Maciol said.

Wolanin’s vehicle was stopped in the single lane of traffic to assist a motorist on the Route 5A ramp approaching the Oriskany Boulevard overpass when the collision occurred, Maciol said.

Tartaglia was treated at the scene by members of the Yorkville Fire Department for multiple fractures and other injuries before being transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center by Kunkel Ambulance, Maciol said.

She was then transferred to a hospital in Syracuse and was listed in serious condition, Maciol said.

The accident reconstruction was conducted by members of the sheriff’s Forensic Identification Unit, and the sheriff’s Patrol Division will complete their investigation before making any conclusions about who’s responsible, Maciol said.

“Obviously, it’s a little too premature at this point to give a specific cause or fault for the accident,” Maciol said Wednesday afternoon.“That will come as soon as the investigation is complete.”

This is the second time this year Wolanin’s vehicle has been involved in a car accident.

On Jan. 8, Wolanin’s vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street in Whitesboro, but Wolanin was not ticketed and no injuries were initially reported. Wolanin was on duty at the time and turning his unmarked vehicle right onto Oriskany Boulevard from Westmoreland Street, he said, when he failed to see the pedestrian enter the crosswalk.

He was stopped on the ramp with a disabled vehicle, and was run into by the motorcycle. How exactly did he cause the accident? If she didn't hit his car, she would have hit the other one

I don't want to get into this one but does his car have full emergency lights or is it unmarked and not a full emergency vehicle.Should he have called for a marked car at some point. You know a sharp lawyer will examine all details and look for all faults, especially if the person is seriously injured.

He SAYS he was stopped. I'd like to hear the motorcyclist's version. I wonder what the accident reconstruction will show.

Chief Wolanin is a piece of human shit known, DEMONSTRATED liar and occasional materials thief who's helped himself to the taxpayer's goodness more than once. The Sheriff is a fraud and completely ruined his only thread of cred within weeks of getting Wyman killed. The Onida County Sheriff's Dept gets regularly trounced in investigations by professional accident specialists for attorneys. Not being able to grasp physics and math does that to you when you work for Oneida Co.
This cop must be galactically fcking stupid. If he wasn't parked with his lethargic ass in the middle of the road, an/or if he had proper signalling equipment there wouldn't BE any accident.
SO glad we left that dunce farm! Stupid people literally breed!

See if you can picture this! Car operating on ramp pulls onto shoulder for whatever reason. PD car pulls up ALONGSIDE in driving lane and stops to see what problem is (two vehicles cannot park side by side on shoulder, without the one being in driving lane). He did it this way so he wouldn't have to park behind and exit PD car, walk to other vehicle and then walk back and enter PD car. He sits in driving lane conversing(that means talking) to other driver, probably with no flashers or any lights displayed, and woman didn't realize he was stopped until obviously too late. Clear cut violation of stopped on pavement. He will escape the violation because the Sheriff's Dept. will do everything possible to protect him, but he won't escape the lawsuit.

I remember many years ago when Wolannin was with the N Y Mills PD. Back when Cater Mercury was on the section alongside 5-A, he was driving from Main St towards Greenman Ave when he started gawking at the cars at Cater Mercury. He ended up crossing over and hitting a car headon in the other lane. The State Police investigated and did amazing feats to cover his ass, even noting that the double solid lines that he crossed were faded. Yeah right ! A police officer didn't know he's required to keep right and not go into opposite lane because the double solid lines were faded, especially when he was familiar with the road. He will skate on this one as well. They protect their own. Maybe those rabies shots have affected his judgement and ability to drive!!!!!

Either way, somehow Wolanin will come out smellin' like a rose. They may even cite the injured biker for some bullshit charge to make it look like her fault. It's also not clear whether he had any emergency lites on his vehicle at the time.

Now now you idiot posters calm down and go back to playing with your dolls. You know nothing of the accident for a fact other than it happened. You folks seem to jump the gun and blame the police for everything that goes on including wrong price labels put on items at K-Mart. Funny thing is, when you call the police on someone you welcome their assistance. Now as in many other cases you take cheap shots at them. This is an accident being investigated not an intentional act by either party. I have yet to see one police officer or department on here that was not bashed by you posters that are so full of wisdom. In fact you bashed officers that gave their lives in the line of duty. Very sad that posters on this social media outlet are such idiots. I do believe that if your true name was posted here you would not have the balls to write any such nonsense.

Don't matter the women on the bike plowed into his rear of the vehicle, so either way its her fault for not paying attention to the road ahead. Just sounds to me someone has a personal gripe with him. Women don't have a leg to stand on in sueing him. No pun intended leg to stand on...

they will try to protect the town from a big lawsuit. The lady who broke down first couldn't help it,girl on motorcycle should have her vehicle under control at all times ,here is the tricky part that lawyers will grab onto, when trained police are on scene the situation becomes their baby. If they make a blunder now the grey area and the deep town pockets for the masterful lawyers.

Two personal injury MVA's in less than a year...you do the math. I think its time someone should file his retirement papers, and not a moment too soon.
