Ever noticed that Bosnians don't celebrate Halloween? Even elemantary schools are doing away with annual Halloween parades prior to the end of the day, I wonder if they're doing this out of respect to the Bosnian kids that attend their schools.

Granted Halloween is descended as a Pagan holiday and witches but who to tell them what the schools should or should not celebrate what holiday.

If they don't like it, well here's a news flash! We have had Halloween parades when we were young and why should the kids be penalized because of their religious beliefs?

Come on this is a stupid post now. For years Bosnians have been handing out candy and even taking their kids trick-or-treating. So dont even go there.

And you need to talk to the school for reasons because i guarantee this is not true.

even if they didn't celebrate it before, I'm sure they have no problem with it. I bet they learn to trick or treat, pretty quickly upon coming here.

Picture the first year and everybodies coming to your door, dressed in sh*t you can't imagine...
You'd be like wtf

But I bet that second year, the Bosnian kids are not gonna miss out on that gig.....who wouldn't

Hey, is there a religion that can't celebrate It???

Let's not forget. They are the biggest cheapskates I've ever seen especially when it comes to garage sales.

I had a garage sale this summer and one Bosnaim mother asked if we would take $1 for an ALMOST NEW size small Incredible Hulk Halloween costume that was worn oncecostume & mask (which was never worn) that was priced at $3. I even threw in the matching Hulk treat bag. We told her no because I paid $15 brand new!

What the hell?

You sound like the cheapskate. It's a garage sale for crying out loud! It doesn't matter HOW much you paid, nobody will pay $3 for an outdated used Hulk costume when they can find one new on the clearance rack for $5.

There are MANY religions that don't celebrate Halloween. Growing up I didn't participate in ANY festivity, you wanna know why? Cuz I was raised a Jehovah's Witness, not a bosnian. NOT all bosnians are cheap. Do you see some of the houses that have been fixed up in the past decade? Bet yer ass it wasn't from an American. And many are hard workers, wish I could say the same for my American neighbor...Halloween is a holiday that businesses make money off of now, just like every other holiday. "Pagan" Halloween wasn't celebrated by dressing up and collecting candy, it's just been corporatized (surprise there)
People need to get off of there high horse and get educated before the shit runs out of there mouth.

There are plenty of religions that don't celebrate Halloween, hardcore Christians (because it's pagan and they couldn't christianize it), Islamic, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, research before sounding like a half wit.

Bosnian kids do celebrate Halloween just like any other kids. Last year half of the kids that showed up in front of my door were Bosnian kids accompanied by their parents. So depending if you are living somewhere in hickville inbreeding with your siblings then you will not find any Bosnian population there.

You are a Jehovah's Witness and you are insulting someone elses intelligence, hows that for irony? Also you would think Halloween would be the ONE holiday for Jehovah's Witnesses, its the only day people would actually answer the door for you!

I think you all need to relax and just have some fun with it. Sure, it was probably weird when kids wearing costumes showed up at your door asking for candy. When I was growing up I went to plenty of houses that either didn't answer the door or had no candy. No big deal, we just go to the next house.
It's all in good jest. If you don't want to participate then don't. It doesn't matter what religions you choose to believe in.

As for the garage sale issue: costumes are a one-use thing. Why do you think it's such a huge industry? People buy new ones each year. A used costume is worth practically nothing. If you're looking for cheap ones check here: http://www.bobbysbest.com/Discount-Kids-Toddl...
