a mouthguard will not work.

Has anyone tried to replace the Perio Protect trays with Sports Mouth guards? Mouth guards cost around $120 for a good pair, I wonder if it might be a fair substitute for the trays??????? Most dentist do the scaling and planning. Add mouth guard and toothpaste and Hydrogen Peroxide with regular 3-4 months cleaning and you have a fairly cheap Perio Protect system. Might to a good option to save your teeth if cash is low. If Congress will not help us, we must help ourselves.:(

Its Works!

Been on it now for about 6 months+ and wish I had it 5 years ago as it might have saved s few teeth in the process.

I am now down from once every 3 months seeing dentist/periodontitis to once every 4 months. And yes it whitens your teeth beautifully.

Can't say enough for it-makes you wonder why it is not the first line of treatment for periodontal problems...sure could ave a lot of pain, aggravation, money and teeth!!!

I am a dental hygienist in vermont and we have the perio protect system offered here in our office. It is an excellent product of you are compliant. And no, a sports guard or night guard is not a replacement as they are not fabricated specifically to fit up high on the gums and dont have the ability to deliver the H2O2 and doxycycline gell into your gums like the perio protect trays do.

Also, the only way to get the perio protect trays is through a dental office because you must have custom impressions taken to be sent to a lab. unfortunately you cant just order them

I have used my trays for 2 years, and I have seen a marked improvement in how my teeth feel and look. My gums are much healthier, and I won't ever do without these helpers. Hygienists and dentists have commented on how great my teeth and gums look. The procedure in the morning is easy. I put the trays in while I shower. That's just the perfect time to use the perio gel and feel it fizz a little in the trays. Love it!

My gums were still bleeding also. I started using listerine before flossing and brushing. I use it for about 5 minutes at least three times a day. I have been tilting my head to both sides to keep my bleeding gums in the back immersed. It really works. Stopped bleeding after 5 days.

I have been very optimist until a couple of weeks ago. I received no instructions and found the base of my teeth getting black. I found on line helpful info but my gums still bleed after 6 month of treatment. My dentist is more expensive then the on line info so now I don't know who to trust! ps my teeth do not seem whiter yet.
