"1500 high tech jobs". Is shuffling paperwork at a government paid school considered high tech in that area?
Considering that the school is pretty much only known for nursing? hahaha

This job fair was a great opportunity for public officials and taxpayer funded groups in the New York State bureaucracy to make it look like something is happening that will benefit the area and the public at large.

What is actually happening is that more state workers will be hired. More taxpayer funded state workers. Is that what we really need? Will that really help in the long run?

The private companies that will eventually inhabit the SUNYIT/CNSE, taxpayer bought and paid for Quad C building on the SUNYIT campus will be so heavily taxpayer subsidized with incentives that any hires they do make will likely not be worth the taxpayer investment being made to get the jobs. Then, when those businesses move on after the incentives expire the jobs will be lost. Do you remember "Empire Zones"? Don't hold your breath waiting for anyone in New York State government to do the cost/benefit analysis. Long range planning is not a New York State attribute.

If New York State were to do the things that need t be done to attract business and keep the businesses they have there would be no need to bribe businesses to come and stay here.
