Bogie was shut down, why not 2 J's?

How is 2J's still even open? They changed their name years ago to try and hide the bullshit but they're still open. People are still being shot and killed there. Other bars in the area were shut down for far less. This bar attracts all sorts of illegal activity. So how does it remain open?

I guess ya gotta look into who owns and operates it and then take into consider that half the UPD hangs out there anyways. Should have been closed back when it was still Anthony's and your Mayor was a frequent customer watching people get shot.

Shut this dump down.

Why close it. It was a fatal mistake to close the bogie because now all the crows are spread out in all the bars causing no night life in the area. It even ruined cavallos. Keep them all at 2 j's or build them a bar on broad street. This is no ones fault but blacks. Im so sick of everyone blaming everyone but these savages. You would need 75 cops a night to control these animals instead of the 7 utica has a night

Let all of the 'illegal activity' type of people go there. Good law-abiding people will know to stay away. Closing the place down will not stop their activity, it will just move it to different locations.

I can see your GED has served you well. Or maybe you're a Proctor grad? Either way, continuing to let these kinds of bars operate is why your City is now shit. The problem is that good law abiding people shouldn't have to stay away from anywhere.

Everyone in this City knows that 2J's is a coke bar responsible for numerous shootings and has been. No other bar in the city is known for it like Anthony's. It really seems like the owner cares or has done anything to change this too. Not even the bars on James St in the middle of the Hill have this shit. Close it down. Who would even continue to go there in the first place? O wait, drug dealers, users, and the white girls who want to be down with that lifestyle. Keep it open in that case.

Actually, I have a Bachelor's Degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude from an excellent University.

The closest I ever come to Utica bars is restaurants that have a bar such as The Raddison or Babe's or Applebee's. You could shut down every true bar in Utica as long as the low-life scum and drug dealers don't show up where I go out to eat.

I've lived in this city almost 80 years now.
Mayors, policemen, judges, lawyers, doctors and other professionals have to be able to place their bets every Saturday and Sunday.
That place and the others like it which are very well known to law enforcement will only be closed when someone from outside the area with no connections decides to make a name for himself.
That or the NY liquor authority pulls the license.

Whenever there's a shooting in ootica the cops treat it like a fender-bender on a snowy day. Just gather what info you can for the report and move on to the next call or investigation. What else can they do if the the public doesn't cooperate? Sad to say, this kid was probably tainted or involved in something shady.

The bar is a front for a lucrative bookmaking operation.
Father bequeathed to son.
Things get even quieter after the Super Bowl when the owner takes wife and 2 J's to Florida with his winnings.
His old man lives next door and keeps an eye on the parking lot.
When in the last 50 or 60 years have you heard of a booky being arrested?
The higher ups would have no place to send their bets.
Seventy years ago I hand carried bets every night written on plain white paper to a grocer in East Utica.
No one ever bothered him.
Think of how many families and holidays are ruined because of this addiction
