Grammar, Schlammar. No hockey coming to Utica. Get a life loser.
I think the hockey part is fine. It would be great to have an AHL team again. But, they have to pay their own way. No tax money for the effirt.

It's worthless around these parts. No one believes it anyway even though the deal for the team is already done. I swear some of the posters won't believe it until the opening face off is dropped in the middle of their living room!
Improvements have already been done to the aud and will continue. Utica will have another ahl team. I ask anyone who doesn't believe...why were the bottom half of the seats improved at the aud while the tops seats were neglected? Why have portions of the locker room areas been updated and then locked? Must just be coincidence. Lol
If the deal was done with no contingency we would have heard about it. I believe there might be a deal but it is contingent upon some public funding. If you think taxpayer money for an effort like this right now is an easy sell you must be nuts along with any politicain who supports something like that.

The seats were improved along with some other maintenace items as part of an ongoing program to cath up on these things that haven't been addressed for many years. Given the popularity of UC hockey those things needed to happen. It's part of a program that also includes facade improvements. It isn't nearly enough money to make the improvements that , according to related stories available, would be required by the NHL for their AHL affiliates. Improvements like a video scoreboard.

You want hockey here - pay for it yourself.

You are the only one saying that.
Prove it.

There have to be a lot of moving parts if there is a deal. The Rob Eshe syndicate promoting the idea, the AUD authority, any local politician involved with funding..... Are we to believe that all interested parties are not only keeping quiet but that they are also all lying to keep this a secret? All I've seen are quotes that say talks have taken place but they are very preliminary and that there is no deal on the table. How do you explain that?

Where is the money coming from?

I've posted several times how I know. Pointed out the already done improvements to the aud...the unspoken and unseen improvements already done to the aud. some people won't believe it until you see it in print which is fine...doesn't mean it's not done however.

That's b/c it is a dead horse. No new hockey. If there was anything to it, it would be in the news.

Show proof and this conversation ends. There isn't one iota of proof to be found anywhere. Actually quite the opposeitr. There are denials and statments from those who would be in the middle of something like this saying there is no deal.

Bridisi is on "Talk of the Town" on WUTQ right now. I can't call from where I am. Someone call and ask him about this. See if there is something in the budget for this.

Well you would be incorrect but lets entertain your thought. If Indy or kc were better choices why are there team in glens falls, Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, abbotsford, springfield, hershey, hartford, etc?

Enjoy the games folks.

The improvements that ahve happened would have happened with or without an AHL agreement.

Read this from the OD describing the scope and goals of the recent and ongoing upgrades.
http://www.uticaod.com/news/x1225366757/New-l...

"The goal of the current project is to save money, Berkheiser said. More efficient lighting will reduce energy costs, and the new retractable seating will be easier to move before and after events, reducing manpower and saving time.

There will, however, be fewer seats – fire codes require slightly wider aisles and the addition of a railing that reduces the number of seats.

About 1,207 seats will replace the broken, duck-taped original seats that were installed in 1960. Maximum capacity of the arena is 6,300, generally for concerts. Hockey games can seat slightly fewer than 4,000."

To be clear, the retractable seating is floor seating used for things like concerts, circuses and the Globetrotters. Not hockey.

This is the nature of the current improvements.
