I don't know what surprises you about Coach Green making the baseball program dominant. All those kids have blossomed into great ball players not to mention the Maxwell kid who's an amazing hitter and by the end of his high school career could be a D1 player

Coach Green isnt long for the school. As soon as a real job comes along he's gone. And by the way, the school just lost its 2 best baseball players..Jones and abraham. They already lost Kesterson...a real d1 player. If you think coach green is feeling all warm and fuzzy about ND right now your delusional.

You people throw around D1 like it is actually possible for those kids. Parents are delusional and have no idea what a D1 athlete actually is. Of all those kids mentioned, a couple would be lucky if they play community college baseball

5 grand for a subpar education and crappy athletics and coaches??? Where don't I sign up??
Wait till mike durr retires after this yr!
I think everyone would want their kid to play for a good coach if sports was important to them. ND is a school though. I'd much rather my kid get a good education in a good environment so they can go to a good college and make a good living for themselves. Sports is fun but it isn't the reason people send their kids to school mostly.

Most kids can get a good education where ever they go to school, even at Proctor. That's a fact. So, if a parent chooses to send a child to ND it may partly be for education plus other reasons. If you really think a Mike Galanese or Simon Pitman or Jordan Chroback types come to ND for the education, you are a fool. They come to ND because they feel the sports program in their school district is lacking in coaching and quality teammates.

On the other hand, you have the Flynt or Gilroy or Wojnas types, who are in a big time school district, who, if they stayed, would never play or would get cut from every team so they come to ND claiming education reasons. Haha.

Then you have the Warmak and Hulser types, who could get on the field or court at a Proctor type school, but would be just another athlete and not the only 'star', like in a low class of football like D or C. Those parents NEED their kid to score every point and be the stud of the team. And, they all talk a big game for college like Michigan or Ohio State, but these types always end up scrubbing out at Utica College.

Actually you are half right, they did appoint assistants but one is declining and they are offering, the OC position to Abraham. He has to choose between Proctor and NH.
As of Tuesday they were all committed to coaching at Proctor. Which coach is declining?

I guess you don't realize that there are things besides sports that make ND different than other schools and that most parents send their kids there for those reasons. It's sad that you don't realize that. Whatever reasons parents have for sending their kids to ND are up to them. I'm pretty sure that it is only a small number that go to ND for the sports though. If you send your kid to another school because the football coach left that's your loss not ND's.

kids just didnt come for the football coach...they came for the basketball coach as well as baseball. The above post regarding why kids come to ND hit the mark. But lets face it...kids are not at ND because off the amazing science program or math program. It is a well known fact that due to lack of funding that educationally ND offers far less than the public schools. Just look at ND enrollment and wonder why there are 41 seniors graduating. The number of 7th grade kids is in the 30's . Its a damn joke

No one is saying that some kids are at ND for other reasons besides sports. They may send them to ND because they are being bullied where they are, still suck their thumb in public, wet the bed, etc. If only for education, the public school has WAY more resources and honors course selection and they would stay in the public.

This thread is about Football Players! find another thread that discusses the virtues of sending your thumb sucking bedwetter to ND vs sending to Proctor.

As far as sending my kid to another school, and that is not a loss to ND, I think any rational person would disagree- ND can't afford to lose kids. A family that actually pays tuition and has a child who can actually contribute to sports teams AND in the classroom, well... people remember those kids and enjoy what they bring to the school. As opposed to whatever your kid brings which likely isn't particularly inspiring.

Here is why we send our kids to ND v Proctor smaller class rooms, more individualized class participation and choice of classes, 10th period where teachers are required to give extra help to the students when they need it, books that students can actually bring home with them read chapters takes notes and study for tests, research papers in college formats, vocabulary books that teach the students SAT vocabulary words, teacher ease website where we can check out child progress everyday and communicate with their teachers who respond in less than 24 hours, making sure your child is taking the psat and sat on time for the college application process, an environment that strives to get students not only prepared for college but works to get them accepted to college no matter what college it may be D1to D3 because at the end of the day the most important thing is the college education not the sports so there you have it...... And all that is so great your ND enrollment is non existent. Are you kidding me about your nonsense post. Dont even try to say why parents send their kids there. Ask why people arent sending their kids there anymore. Ask why there are 41 kids in senior class and why the 7th grade is under 40. Ask why some kids have to pay and why your principal is bribing parents for kids who play sports to stay. Ask why kids like warmack brabham and sullivan dont pay . The school is falling apart. Open your eyes people

Well that's sounds real nice for your child. Rome Catholic used to make the same claims too. They fell off the map when the coaching became so terrible that they lost all the time and were dropped to class D in everything. then, very few were interested in RCH, and then what happened? Gilroy, Joseph and Anna Mae have put ND on the same path. Oh and shut up about the Chinese already

Do the public schools have religion classes that go beyond just history and into spiritual matters? Do they offer a secular education with a spiritual foundation? Do the public schools have campus ministry programs?

Every year in June there are stories about valedictorians in public schools who aren't allowed to thank God for their education. That doesn't happen at ND and some people find value in that part of the ND experience and send their kids there because of it. It's a lot more important than football.
