Since moving here to Utica in 2000 the only one I can say is Tony's of Burrstone Rd. If someone knows of one better let me know.

I agree about Joe's Pizza in Whitesboro.

Our family grew up on that every friday night when they were in the original place on Main Street and Westmorland Road.
Good memories from Joe's back in high school too. The place was a little hang out for a lot of kids.

I remember you could get a small cheese pizza for 3.00 and the sodas in the machine all needed to be opened with the cap opener. Remember that?
Now I am hungry. LOL

In Utica, The Italian chefs pizzas are pretty goos and their wings are great!

You have got to be kidding......that pizza is the greasiest stuff around. In case you didn't know, the grease is the result of using cheap cheese with oil filler. You want one better.....try any other pizza place in Utica. For thicker crust try Rosarios and for thin try Italian Chef or Sabatino's

As far as the "upside down" pizza goes I agree with the ones who said Joe's in Whitesboro. Theirs is top notch.

If you have the time and want to try a pizza that stands above the rest take a drive to Richfield Springs and try New York Pizzeria.

I've also heard good things about a place in Ilion, but I forget the name right now. It might be called Sorrento.

I haven't found any good pizza up here yet. Venice isn't bad.

What O'Scugnizzo serves isn't pizza. I'm not sure what it is but it isn't pizza.

I can't believe the calzones around here. Every one in a while, I go down to Westchester County and when I do, I always bring back about 10 or so calzones. Those are good.

I believe it is Sorrento's. Lombardo's II is also worth a try. I always liked Lombardo's chicken riggies better than his pizza, but his pizza is not greasy at all. The "monster" slices rule.

Anything you order at "Frank and Rosa's" in Waterville is well worth the trip. The prices are reasonable, too. As much as I like upside down pizza, you still cannot beat traditional hand-tossed round NYC style pizza! You can see Frank tossing the dough as you walk by the restaurant. Authentic is the word for it.
