Was it his parents, society, or himself? Maybe it was a combination of all three. We're all born innocent, so along the way he most definitely was dealt a shitty hand, and being African American, sadly in this world, the odds were against him. every time something like this happens, I can't help but think what kind of life and upbringing they had. Most of us would never even imagine doing such a horrific act, but there is always someone who will. So in the case of Jerry McNair, there's a part of me that feels sorry for him and a part of me that will always wonder who failed the person that has no reason to live.
Someone like you failed him by making excuses for his poor choices. Are you asking so you can exploit the situation into a news story or further one you already started?

We all have choices in life, he chose the wrong path to take. Please don't discredit African Americans by making such a statement. In case you haven't noticed, our POTUS is African American, and by the way, reminds us of that every opportunity he gets.
The only ones I feel sorry for is the 22 year old that was smart enough to try to get away from him and the child he sexually abused. I believe he is 37 years old so I will bet my life that there is more than one child that is a victim of sexual abuse by this man, highly unlikey he started back in September when he was charged with that crime.
He is a coward that took the easy way out. Killed himself so he would not have to go to jail. Woman beater, child sex offender, drug dealer, and God knows what else. IMO, he did the taxpayers a favor.

I also feel sorry for the victims in this situation. My question is who do you think failed him? I'm not putting down African Americans, I respect all cultures, but a black male is 7 times more likely to end up in prison, Google it and you'll see. Why is this?? Look up tons of topix posts disrespecting the black population, don't blame me for posting actual facts!!
What makes you think anyone failed him? Just because people make bad choices in life, does not mean society failed them. If that is true, then everyone in jail/prison, regardless of race, has been failed by society.
I am not saying that African Americans have not been given a raw deal, in many cases, but I still believe that we all make choices in life that will either put us in prison or keep us out.
Would you be asking the same question if he was a white male?

In NYS, at the age of 7, you are legally responsible for your actions. If you commit a crime, you can be taken into cstody and can be petitioned to Family Court. McNair was above the age of 7.

We all, as humans, have free will. As a human, we all have a soul. As an adult human, we are supposed to know the difference between right and wrong and we are supposed to have empathy and compassion for others. Those who do not, are sociopaths or worse.

McNair was and is a failure as a human in every single way. If his parents were deficient, it is was up to McNair to see the light, make changes in his life and be a better person than his parents were. He failed miserably. Society did not fail. McNairs parents did not failed. McNair failed in epic proportions. Now he is dead. He should be cremated and his ashes should be blown away in the wind and he should be forgotten as the scum he was. Period.
