Look at what the CEO is making $345,000.00 +how many jobs could be saved if he took a freakin cut in pay. Say make only $95,000.00 + perks .

Seems like St.E's has gone down the tubes since Ketchum took over. I hardly think he is worth $345,000 +/-

You said it. Hiring freezes, budget cutbacks, eliminated positions, layoffs THREE years in a row and now an entire unit closed down!!! Sure, times are tough but hospitals still rake it in. Clearly Ketcham is about as useful as a condom vending machine in the Vatican. His salary is a tad more than $345k. Try $500,000, plus benny's. Perra makes $700k over at St Lukes. Then again Lukes isn't crumbling like St E's.

his salary is not what is driving the hospital down. obama care is the cause of this debacle.

So many changes. Ketchun $350 K/year. OUTRAGEOUS. Many Depts have dept heads and assistant managers. They have to be recouping some money with their solid Cardiac program and the high level of orthopedic care..Less transfers to bigger cities.
A VP of Nursing, Assistant VP of Nursing Nursing Supervisors, Nurse Managers, Assistant NM...let alone the Pat Buckley Salary.Of course then we have to add on Legal Dept.
The closure of 2D..that was always happening. But that unit also needed a manager...TOP HEAVY MANAGEMENT.. this Ketchum will sink the ship and he will walk away with his bank account overflowing
Sister Rose is rolling over in her grave...
Shall we open the.subject of the ER and the focus changed from "caring" to "cranking" them through...Healthcare is rapidly declining...Thank you Pat Buckley,Varrinya and Ketchum for ruuining St E's...You should all be proud of yourselves.

Ever since management became top heavy, and above reach, SEMC has declined. Long gone are the days when care was truly patient centered, and not money driven. Many hospitals are doing just fine under Obama care, because the managers have foresight, planning, and are willing to sacrifice excessive administrative costs. I would be willing to bet that most of the layoffs at St. E's were not administrative, hence their no comment position. Maybe they should look at their finance department, whose history over the last three or four decades has been squashed. So,so sad.
