Grad - think you are wrong. Coach is behind the protest and all of the calls. I am sure that Coach is not clear on anything. Time finally ran out.

Coach has personally orchestrated the protest.

He was let go because he unapologetically defied a direct order given by Sister Anna Mae and then when confronted with that went on a media tour. He arrogantly defied a direct order and that's why he got in trouble. Why is that so hard to understand? That's not overshadowing anything. That's just what happened. I'm sick of hearing how it's a about football being a contact sport where preparation is everything. It's not about football. Deflecting the truth is thinking that this is about football. It's not. It's about an employee substituting his opinion and judgement in place of an order he was given by his boss. Take that decision out of the context of football and think of it in the context of any other employer - employee relationship. Would that behavior be tolerated? Should it be? Why didn't he question the order right away rather than just ignoring it? He decided that he knew what was best regardless of what he was told to do. I think the outcome may have been different had he questioned the order at the outset and explained why he thought he was right.

This NDfan poster has repeatedly came on here making the same uninformed point. It can be only one of only a few ND parents, because it is the only thing they can say.
I will put this simply to you- there is NO WAY Anna Mae EVER gave an order to any coach to put a player in a game!! NO WAY she would do that, ever!!
1) Now, lets talk about this situation, with kids in a contact sport who missed a week of practice and had not been on the field in 8 days. Ask any Lawyer you know if Anna Mae would take on the financial liability and responsibility for playing one of those kids and something bad happens (injury). The answer is NO WAY!! She is a smart and calculating lady who would NEVER be in the position to be liable for that. That's why they hire a football coach. NDfan, I know you must be smarter than this, but if not, ask ANY LAWYER.
a) One of the four ROTC kids in question here significantly injured his arm two games later. His parents were not present at the game and had to be called to come to the field. An ambulance drove onto the field and took the kid to the hospital. The father arrived and immediately wanted to know if it was a "cheap shot" that caused the injury. When told no, he then demanded a copy of the DVD to assess for himself. These are indisputable facts. IF THIS HAPPENED IN THE CLINTON GAME, the game the kids didn't play, DO YOU THINK THIS FATHER WOULD HAVE SUED, NDfan??
2) Call any local school and ask them what their written policy is on playing time, and who is responsible for determining who plays and who doesn't. I guarantee that NO SCHOOL will say it is written that the High School Principal determines who plays in a contact sport such as football. No well adjusted HS Principal would want to be involved in playing time issues!
3) Call any local school and ask what the written policy is on missing football practices and playing in a game. IT WILL NOT MATTER WHY YOU MISS PRACTICE NDfan. My guess is all of them will say 2 days missed no play. This is a common knowledge thing NDfan.
4) So what is different at ND?, Well this is what we know:
a) One of the players is a Gilroy. Vin Gilroy has a public history of berating and questioning and undermining every school sports coach. Vin Gilroy tells any one who will listen he thinks his son is a Div 1 tight end, and Abraham plays his son as a lineman.
b) Vin Gilroy is on the school board, and was appointed by the bishop, so he has regular access to the bishop and monsignor and, of course, the Principal Anna Mae.
c) The president of the school board is Vin Gilroy's friend, Jim Joseph, and he a handsomely paid for his position. Jim Joseph was Vin Gilroy's college roommate at Lemoyne. I think we can assume they are close. Jim Joseph admitted on recorded tape that he was inappropriately involved in the suspension and firing of Coach Abraham, physically in the room and even signed the documents!! School Board has NO BUSINESS being involved in personnel situations!!
It is the Principals right to fire a coach she doesn't like at the end of the season, but she wanted to embarrass him.
What say you NDfan? Boom. Out.

That's not funny.

Many people at the meeting had zero to do with football but are concerned with the ND leadership. Namely the old decrepid nasty principal. People have been trying to remove her for years. She was replaced about 8 years ago by a utica principal that ran from the school after finding out how it works there. I took my kids out years ago. People should run from there. Never more evidence how elite money people can influence.

Jim Joseph is claiming the $40,000 he is paid to be the head of the school board is now being donated to charity. What a joke...take money from one charity and give to another. These people make me sick

Then be a part of the solution not part of the problem. If not, then accept what you see and hear from these people and stop complaining.
