Government collecting weapons from the public, nice!

Seriously, even if you aren't a big fan of the second amendment, you should be scared as hell about rapidly disentegrating personal freedom.

"The state has established a toll-free tip line – 1-855-GUNSNYS (1-855- 486-7697) to encourage residents to report illegal firearm possession. The tip line also allows for information to be submitted via text – individuals can text GUNTIP and their message to CRIMES (274637). While the state will provide the administrative support and fund the rewards, the investigation and validity of the tip will be up to each local department."

Raise a gun at the government? Won't happen. Gun owners are actually a bunch of cowards who are frightened at everything, that's why they feel the need to surround themselves with weapons. The most you will get out of them is the usual - yard signs and angry YouTube rants.

Besides, can you imagine what would actually happen if they tried violence? I am imagining a fat redneck wheezing and limping as a swat team chases him.

Your assumption about their intentions is just as wrong as your assumption that they are all fat rednecks.

I'm your Whitestown neighbor. I have guns. I'll shoot if and when they come for them. There are many more like me.

You again fool yourself when you think and say that armed citizens must take on the government alone. The U.S. military will never go to war against American citizens, and many of them will join when they see their family members involved or joining. Many police officers are sick of government intrusion and will join in as well.

And when its over, we will remember all those people who supported the government and supported disarming the citizenry and we will deal with them then.

You are willing to murder federal agents rather than give up weapons? That says a lot about the psyche of gun owners. Suddenly i'm not so comfortable being your neighbor if you're willing to kill another human being that easily.

And if you think that the military or federal agents will suddenly side with your ilk, you need a history lesson! The Bonus Army, Kent State, Ruby Ridge, etc.

With the exception of the Bonus Army, all subsequent actions were carried out by National Guard units. Ruby Ridge was the FBI.

i wouldn't worry too much about your neighbor. freaks like that are almost always all hot air and are more likely to blow their own foot off than aim & shoot anything. but if his house ever catches fire you'd be well advised to get the hell outa there as he probably has a closet full of ammo that will be going off in all directions.

It allows law enforcement officials to “preemptively seize a person’s firearms without a warrant if they have probable cause [that] the person may be mentally unstable or intends to use the weapons to commit a crime.
