Congressman Rich Hanna

How many letters does Hanna have to write to President Obama about the flood in the area. Do you think Obama is going to listen to a farmer with no education. Hanna needs to take off the baseball cap when doing an interview with WKTV 2 News. He looks like a stupid farmer and he suppose to be our Congressman?

Rich was a millionaire before he took the job. Public servant was and is his quest. Know the guy well! Wish I could say that about more of your local politicians!

Enough for him to finally make an official disaster declaration? The better question would be why the President is ignoring the disaster here.
Mr. Hanna has a four year degree in Economics and Political Science from Reed College. Oh, and he worked his way through school as well.
Do you know *why* Mr. Hanna was dressed that way? Because he was actually helping people trying to salvage what little they could from their homes. Because he didn't just show up in a suit and tie for a photo op and press availability, but actually waded in, quite literally, and got dirty.
Did you happen to notice the heavy earthmoving equipment in the background? Did you, perchance, see the "Hanna Construction" logo?
There have been a whole lot of politicians dropping by to hold press conferences because of the flooding. Usually they arrive in an air conditioned SUV, make a quick speech, and then drive off. In the Governor's case he arrived in an air conditioned helicopter and then "toured the destruction", assuring that his carefully pressed polo shirt didn't get a crease.
Hanna not only gave his time, but his considerable assets to help. He sweated with the people clearing away that goddamn mud, and he cried with the ones who were seeing everything they had dropped into a muck-filled dumpster.
Who else did that? Schumer? Gillibrand? Cuomo? Please. They couldn't be bothered.
You want to see real character? Compare their blow dried opportunism with Hanna's in-the-trenches work. To be honest, his opponents will probably use this whole experience against him. I have no doubt we'll be seeing footage from the flood cleanup of him behind the controls of a bulldozer. Except instead of praising him, they'll headline it "Rich businessman Richard Hanna plows through environmentally sensitive area!!!!!!!".
Sweet fancy Moses, you people are insufferable.

As of his 2008 House financial disclosure filing, Republican congressional challenger Richard Hanna had investments valued at $750,000 to $1.5 million in two companies that could play a major role if plans to drill for natural gas in the Marcellus Shale region south of Utica move forward.

p.s. rubbing elbows, and looking to make a return on his investments.
