Doesn't this multi time political loser ever run out of gas? Check his monthly editorial in today's OD where he espouses his love of the Tea Party.
His very first sentence includes "the president and his merry band of left wing, Kool Aid drinkers"... and the letter closes with: "writers who substitute name calling with thought ought to deal with issues not fabrication and insult."
He quotes "a recent study" that describes the Tea Party as "educated, professional and civic minded." So who did that study Rodger? The Tea Party of course!
And the most blatantly false statement of the week goes to Rodger and made me laugh out loud! He actually wrote: "At no time has racism been exhibited by any of the groups." No lie. He actually wrote that!
No need for name calling when it comes to this boy. He's the best advocate for LIBERALISM in Oneida County! LOL
And what office have you run for?

And this is exactly why Roger could never win a race for dog catcher. He thinks he's smarter than everyone and talks down to them. He clearly references "Kool Aid" drinkers, a very terrible reference from the Jonestown massacre, but then complains about name calling.
He says there were no signs of racism. Come on! I won't say all Tea Party members, especially before they were co-opted by the Koch Brothers and Republican Party, are racist, but they evidence of fringe members showing up with racist signs and Obama dolls hanging from a noose are well established.
He would have been better served sticking to the original principles and issues. But that just wouldn't fit his obsession with the whole idea that white, old males should lead the country. Read his ramblings on the OD comments. He only sticks his angry head up when it's something to do with Obama or Picente (because he couldn't get 30% against Picente).
Oh, and is it just a coincidence that the only two examples he names from the "left" are black reverends? I think not. Freudian slip?
Comparing writing and substance, it appears that Potocki is smarter than some. He also spells names correctly.

Good grief. The reason why people thought Republicans wanted to shut down the government is because a laundry list of Republicans were on record saying......... they wanted to shut down the government.
Not true.

It was pure politics. Democrats wanted a shutdown so they could blame Republicans. They know that most people don't pay attention closely enough to know what is really going on.

Republicans wanted to fund everything but the Affordable Care Act or just some provisions of it. There was even one bipartisan deal on the table where it was just a 6 month delay in the medical device tax that Republicans were asking for. It was Harry Reid that shut that deal down. Democrats wanted all or nothing knowing Republicans would be blamed even though it was Democrats that were really at fault.

I knew Roddy's mama. She actually wanted to name him "Dodger" but she mis-spelled it on the birth certificate so...

I bumped into a friend this morning who alerted me to the buzz on this web site. I decided to check it out for myself. I notice several characteristics of my critics. They are; 1. They do not have the guts to use real names, 2. They cannot read since none accurately describe what I wrote in the OD,2. Liberals cannot stand being called on their positions and invariably lash out with personal attacks 3. How sad it is that people hide behind the race card to avoid a real discussion of issues. Most of these people have not left the 60's or truly do not grasp what is going around them or in the rest of the country. How race could dominate discussion in a nation that elected a mixed race president to lead it, one which has experienced decades of affirmative action in education and the work place, a country that is experiencing a dramatic increase in mixed race marriages, one that offers free educational opportunities to all, just to name a few characteristics of reality, is perplexing. But, it does lead to one inescapable conclusion; some have no interest in or ability to discuss the real issues of today. That is obvious on this rather disgusting site.

The "Affordable Care Act" is turning out to be anything but affordable for many and not providing the care that its' advocates used as their selling points. That would mean that the true definition and reality are the opposite of the name.
Great Depression
An oxymoron is a contradiction in terms. "Affordable", "Health", "Care", and "Act" do not contradict each other. I understand that there are some really big problems with "Obamacare" and that you are crowing about them. But, one does sound like a fool when they use words that they do not know the definition of. I know that I'm being pedantic, but you are wrong, can easily be proven wrong, but will always believe and maintain thatyou are right. Typical Tea-Partier!

In the strictest definition of oxymoron you are right. The words affordable and care do not contradict each other. I once read a list of oxymorons and saw "Great Depression" on that list. It stuck with me because I thought that there is no great kind of depression. In that context I don't think there is affordable care under this act for many. Like I said though under the strict definition of oxymoron, Affordable Care Act doesn't fit.

If in the future this law turns out cause healthcare to be unaffordable, and it looks to be headed in that direction, it could very well become an oxymoron for future generations just like Great Depression.

Republicans proposed a bill that conditioned the continued funding of the federal government with the defunding of Obamacare. That bill did not have enough votes in the Senate to pass, nor did it have the support of the president who promised to veto it. So rather than divest the repeal of Obamacare from the continued operation of the government, Republicans chose blackmail and shut it down.

Meanwhile, a Democratic bill that would have continued funding the government had majority support in the House, Senate, and president. But that bill was blocked by a minority in the House for several weeks until public pressure forced House leadership to bring that bill up for a vote, at which time it easily passed.
Republicans took full credit for the shutdown until it blew up in their faces. The revisionist history by TeaPartiers is yet another example of their utter separation from reality.

And in the end a conversation was had about the Affordable Care Act that never would have taken place otherwise. That's a good thing.

Time will tell if Republicans who proposed defunding Obamacare were on the right path or not. Given the early results I think public opinion may be trending in their direction. A great indicator of that is the Iran agreement. This worthless agreement was fast tracked by the US and gladly trumpeted as a success (even though if you look at the details you come to a different conclusion)by mainstream media in order to get all of the Obamacare failure bad press off the front pages.

ObamaCare could not succeed in any form. You cannot defy the law of supply and demand without increasing cost and reducing service. That is exactly what is now happening. If Obama and the Democrats did not realize this, they do not grasp basic economics. I think they did but took the action they did for strictly political and wealth redistribution reasons.

In the immortal words of Ted Cruz following the sad "I do not like green eggs and ham" (ACA) preamble in the halls of congress, he awakened from his stupor just long enough to exclaim "I do like green eggs and ham,(the ACA) I do like them Sam I am"!...and when the smoke of a lousy website clears and as the ACA serves the American people as intended opinions like your's will be cast aside like garbage.
