yep you are coorect, there are laws like it or not he is entitled to an education in the least restrictive enviroment. either he will be home-schooled or attend school, parents have the ultimate decision of how his education should be handled-along with his psychologist and juvenile justice system. when he is released he will have a plan of how things are to be handled-he may not even end up at w'boro, but at an alternative ed program with BOCES. laws are laws and he has rights-he did his time and now people should let him be
thank you im glad someone not related feels the same :)

I sure hope nobody "picks" on this kid. If he did kill his father, that's not someone I would mess with their head. Stay back.

This kid DID attend public school while the investigation went on. As if this wasn't bad enough. Now they want to put him back in public school! OMG what message is this sending to the other kids. That you can kill your parent(s) and within 2 yrs resume like as usual. This child needs to go to a special school, where he can continue to work on his issues. It is extremely selfish of the parents to want him to go to Whitesboro. This kid will be a freak there!

How can they Main Stream this kid? Hasn't he been through enough, now only 2 days after her is due to be released form a detention center, they are sending him back Whitesboro High School as if nothing has happened. The kids there are going to wreck this kid. Wake up...and get the kid some real help.
At least this kid will bein high school and not at westmoreland road where its a regular payton place! I am so mad that so many of these teachers are having affairs, dancing on bars, bartending and whoring around! And WE pay for it! REALLY!!! BEst part is that the new teachers are 100 percent clueless! They try to teach from books and without the pictures, they are screwed. My daughter cant do much beyond what I teach her! And I work full time so I now have 2 full time jobs! Educating her is most important so she can get the hell outta here!

Name some teachers that are having affairs if you think you know so much. If you don't like the school, take your 2 part time jobs, move off of Main St. and back to Utica. I cannot believe you are saying there are teachers having affairs there.....name nmaes or stfu!

Mind our business???? When this kid committed murder - he made his business ALL OUR BUSINESS! He tied up our tax dollars, has been in our tax dollar driven detention center ... now he wants to live in our local area and attend our local school. This kid will be EVERYONES business! Should we all just forget that he murdered his father. I don't care what kind of abuse (if this is even true) he sustained - there are a lot of people who have been abused past and present who don't KILL their parent! This kid is sick and the system should not take pity on him. He is responsible for his actions! Let him locate somewhere else - we don't need murderers in our backyard. If this kid is allowed to resume life as normal-he is sure to hurt again; what will he have learned? That if you have justified anger you can kill??? This is everyones business this kid is a danger to our community!

Actually, if a doctor or someone who works for the doctor or an insurance company employee disclosed this information, then they could be sued. If it's just a person who happens to have information, such as a friend of a neighbor, they cannot.

Why don't you ppl use this opportunity to parent your own kids!! Whether you like it or not, like him or not... Here is where he is!! So if your beliefs are to bully him.. then teach your kid that. If your belief is tolerance then do that too. If you think your kid needs to learn how to watch for psycho's then do whatever you need to do to teach it! This kid is @ this school with adults to monitor the situation... don't shun your kids from what ever it is they need to learn because they might misss out on learning some important life skill that they just might need when they go off to college or wherever & have ppl shooting up campuses or or video bullying to the point of suicide. Don't let your kids become Naive to the big bad world by protecting them from reality. It might suck, but it is what it is... so teach them something that just might need to save or help!! them!!!

Did anyone give a damn about this kid when his father was abusing him? Why did he live with this abusive parent? He is a child and a victim. Should he have murdered his father? Of course not. But children that are regularly beaten and verbally abused are not able to figure that out.

The the horse has left the barn. It happened, the kid was locked up, and deserves another chance at life. Let him move on.

To Lose the Drama - I disagree - if this kid is allowed to "move on" and mainstream back into his life as if nothing happened, what about all those kids who are sitting in a jail cell for the very same crime? Should we then let them all out? Abuse is not a defense for murder! Point blank (pun intended) this kid will hurt again!

Well maybe not mainstream, but I just get stuck on the fact that he was an abused child. Why isn't it a defense for this child? It is my understanding that people knew his father was an awful person. The system failed Joseph. He was wrong to kill, but I'm sure he felt helpless. I don't know. From what I've heard about the father, I just don't care one bit that he is dead.

But you are right when you say that there are alot of abused children who can't go around killing their parents. What's the answer? System Failure?
