Ok; It's cool to be skeptical....However; not everyone who says they have had a Bigfoot sighting is on crack, drunk, psychotic, or is "misidentifying" a bear; etc . And yes, there certainly are morons who enjoy perpetrating Bigfoot hoaxes. That being said, there are some very credible, stable individuals who are knowledgable regarding the woods, etc who have had sightings. Locally, I have heard that some hunters have had experiences in the North Lake/Woodhull area.North Lake is pretty remote---way past the Buffalo Head restaurant, on the same road that the restaurant is located. The hunters involved have not shared much about their experiences, for fear of ridicule. I worked with a woman whose son went camping at North Lake. He came back after one night in the woods- as did the friends he was camping with. They were very anxious and scared, and absolutely refused to discuss what took place during the night in the woods. He was not a drunk, did not get stoned, etc. He just said that "something really weird happened" and flatly refused to say what happened; as "no one would believe him". He was a grown man at the time, and this happened at least 10 yrs ago. I think that there is a possibility that Bigfoot is real. All I know is that I would shit my pants if I ever had a sighting. Just as an aside....Brewer Lake is a little odd, in that when hiking back there I noticed there was absolutely no birdsong, etc in the woods the entire time I was there. Kinda creepy in that it was so weird with no animal activity at all. So, if there are any local Squatchers in the area, check out the North Lake and Woodhull area. You never know..........

I do alot of hunting and hiking around the Otter Lake area. I have not personally had any encounters, or saw footprints or anything, but I would not rule out the possibility. The Adirondacks is a very large area, with alot of places that no man has ever seen before.
Whenever I am in the woods, be it for hunting, hiking or snow-shoeing, I am armed. Obviously when I am hunting, I have my rifle, but I always carry my trusty Smith & Wesson .44 loaded with Hornady Leverevolution ballistic tip bullets. Make no mistake about it, if I encounter a Sasquatch in the woods, I won't be interested in scientific discovery.

I take it that you are familiar with the Brewer Lake area, then? I am in Otter lake on occasion and you dont have to get too far off the beaten path to be in some pretty remote areas. It is refreshing to hear that there are others who appreciate the wilderness who have not ruled out the possibility of Bigfoot. It was not all that long ago that Turkey were unheard of in NY(at least in CNY) and it was just this past Sept I saw my first moose between Boonville and Forestport. Have a good buddy (reliable-sane) who swears to God he saw a cougar in the ADKS about ten years ago. Saw it close up, too. Scared the hell out of him. Thanks for the reply, and stay safe in the woods.

Yes, I am familiar with Brewer Lake, but have never spent alot of time there. I stick to the Otter Lake area, because I spent my summers growing up there at my uncle's camp. You are definitely right, you can get off the beaten path and be in some deep thick woods in a hurry.
I saw moose tracks while I was snow-shoeing last winter behind Otter Lake off of Lakeview. Followed them for a couple miles, but started getting into some deeper woods and decided to turn back.
Thanks for the kind words, and you also be safe in the woods.

There is proof now, they have 5 genomes in DNA and it's getting published. Now people can laugh at the people who said bigfoot was a fake. Too bad Roger Patterson never got to see it, he took a lot of shit until he died.
