Amit is not scam. If you don't know - dont say. It a great company and I am saving on my bills about 10%.
The company now has close to 500,000 customers and A rating at BBB - This means something. Also its #1 faster growing company in USA - per Inc 500 Magazine.

Well I'm shocked again that the intelligent people who live inb Utica once again have no clue about how the world works. But if you tell stupid stories to people maybe someone will think you're smart. Well Ambit is ligit and you don't have to shell out any money to join and enjoy savings. Sure it's a pyramid where the top guys get the money. Well let me tell you something, the top guy where I work gets all the money also. He pays me a wage and he reaps the reward of my labor. Grow up Utica and take advantage of a good thing before it passes you by AGAIN!

I received a call from an energy company a couple weeks ago, don't recall if it was Ambit or not. They claimed to be a relatively new company, and had found a way to reduce my energy bill by not charging sales tax. I asked them to explain, and the person i was speaking to had a hard time explaining it. I guess they just assumed i would jump at the chance to avoid paying sales Tax. When I asked them, "who fills the gap in the revenue stream created by the lack of those Tax Dollars?" They handed me off to a supervisor. He said "I don't understand the question" I said "supposedly, our Federal, State, and Local Governments are all Broke, So if they are no longer going to have those sales tax dollars coming from you, what fees will they raise on me to make it up? They said they would call me back...... they didn't.

A friend of my family recently explained to me that there is a $450 start-up cost to become a "salesperson" in this company. Also, he has to maintain a certain number of customers and recruit new "salespeople". There is a monthly fee to be paid to the company and publications must be purchased to share with prospective customers. He then stated that once he reached a certain level, he would have to start fresh again and obtain a new group of customers. It sounded like a pyramid scheme to me. Very similar to Amway from the Midwest. I don't like companies that steal from its' employees to make gains and pad the top like this. The minimal savings over National Grid equates to not enough for me to sever a relationship. However, that doesn't mean I'm not considering alternatives. Solar power is the future, not some company with goods being sold out of a back of a truck.

I have been an Ambit customer for 3 years.I honestly don't know what everyone is afraid of. There is no contract, at least here in NY. If your not happy switch back to your incumbent provider. It's a written guarantee of 1% annually. If you don't save they mail you a check. I have no complaints.

Totally agree. This company is a SCAM and their bulk energy comes from shady means.

That is not Ambit, there is no cost to join Ambit. We joined before Winter and our bills have been cheaper, not a massive amount, maybe twenty or so dollars, but they have been cheaper. We also did NOT have to sign a contract.

Apparently you are having difficulty reading; the post you replied to CLEARLY stated that it was referring to being a salesperson. Why argue something for no reason???!!! And we wonder why society is the way it is. People like you cause trouble by not being responsible for taking your time to do your very best. Half-as*ed way of life. Congratulations.

I don't pay gas nor electric. I learned about deregulation overseas because there I only had to work 15 hours a week on full time pay with my business established in Florida and New York.

I'm just an American living abroad. I joined Ambit. It made business sense. I made my initial investment back and now getting residual income! I stopped thinking like a consumer a long time ago, which is why I left USA 5 years. I came back for some months.

This is a business where I help people save money and others make money in a system of integrity and high professionalism. Maybe residual income is NOT or you. Thank God!The world needs people like you to work the lineal money-making businesses engines of America otherwise we- the new entrepreneurs wouldn't get our goods and services from the old economy. Be careful... wake up.

"Oh it only costs $399 to join the plan...and an optional webpage (they'll call it your own website - www.suckerborneveryminute.ambitenergy.com ) www.your_name_here.ambitenergy .com or www.blow_it_out_your_ass.ambit energy.com) which costs $19.99 a month - so that's about $639 you just spent after a year on that plan w/ webpage.
I'm sorry to say this but usually the ones who promote this are 'shepherds'... By that I mean the very very polite, socially acceptable, pleasant to be around types, never a harsh word etc... They live by the 'what you say is what you are, so if you say only positive words, you'll reap positive rewards'... Yeah, see where I'm getting to? Ambit targets these 'shepherds' to fleece more of a flock. But mark my words: the day I give out $639 to a scheme in hopes I save money on an energy bill is the day I crawl on all fours, eating grass in a field, and uttering 'baa-a-a-aa'

Has anyone done business with Deb Burke? She was not very nice to me recently, and is affiliated with Ambit. Is there anyone else to do business with?

Point blank. Once you choose Ambit Energy as your supplier from there on out you will forever pay less for gas and electric. You are not severing any relationships with National Grid. They still deliver, bill and collect the same way they always have. Ambit is the only supplier that guarantees a savings and there are over 20 different suppliers to choose from. Do not get locked into a rate with any other company who may try to gain your business with telemarketing or by going door to door. Those companies are NOT Ambit Energy. Ambit strictly uses social/relationship/word of mouth marketing because it is the best form of marketing that retains loyal customers which in turn keep our rates so competitive. There is no risk to becoming a customer, if you are not an Ambit Energy customer yet...get with someone you know that may be a consultant and switch!
As far as the business aspect. The only pyramids I know of are the ones in Egypt. Ambit is not a scam/scheme whatsoever! They do have an A rating with the BBB, were named the #1 fastest growing privately held company in the US, have a long term contract with the 3rd largest company in the world, and had a license with the public utility commission in every state they supply in. This is a business and there is an investment. Have you ever looked into starting a business? I can tell you it's a lot more than a one time $429 investment, and your monthly operating expenses would be much more than $25 a month. Try refilling ink cartridges or your copying machine for less than $75! The investment is paid right back to you just by gathering some customers. Again, get with someone you may know who is a consultant and get your questions answered! This opportunity is the best in the nation, but if you don't get, you don't get it! If the business side does not appeal to you, that's fine....but do yourself a favor and become a customer and pay less for something you have to purchase anyway.

The ambit dude just left my house. They promise that they will save me 3% on each bill. If not, they will send me a check at the end of the year for the difference. Say they average only saving me 2% all year. Come January or February, I will receive a check for 1% of the total cost of my electric and gas. My electric bill here in York, PA averages $130.00 per month. So, my bill would reflect a 3% AMBIT savings on the bill bringing my bill for that month to $126.10. Savings = $3.10.Electric savings for the year = $37.20. I am not sure how much our gas is, so I can't compute that.
