Let me just lay this on them.....

The Boilermaker is a not-for-profit parasite parade. It started out as a home town thing held around the Good-old-Summertime week, which, itself was debilitatingly embarrassing for Utica. It grew along with the budgets and egos and soon enveloped the media. Poster above has it right it's where you all get the shzt beat outta you with ten million cheesy reports about "The Big Race" and everyone pretends for two weeks that for some reason they are going to be a big part of the world and the future if they gagobble endlessly about how GREAT the race is and how GREAT the city looks and how GREAT the cops act like ninjas and how GREAT an opportunity it is for the future of Utica all for something 5% tops really even cares remotely about after they have seen 400 reports. People with two eyes and a brain can see it, the cities they aspire to emulate simply don't do media and events this way. Another fine benefit of leaving Utica was being able to turn off wktv and not see an Observer Dispatch unless you want to.

The people on here continue to baffle me. You complain about how the city doesn't have anything. And you complain about the few good things it does have. Nevermind that the Boilermaker helps with sales tax.

If you're so unhappy here, leave. And if you don't live here, then why are you still complaining about a city you don't even live in?

You are mistaken, we don't live there many of us left long ago now. Also I'm laughing at your Boilermaker sales tax. Keep telling yourself that silly bullshit is anything but a drop in a bucket. Obviously it hasn't done a single fckn thing to "put you on the map!" in over 30 years. Yes you are truly baffled. That's why it's fun to read the Utica Topix. Get it now?

How quickly they resort "the usual oooOOotican stuff" these people are predictably shallow at this point. The only reality check that would help is if someone dropped a huge bomb on the place to dump some chlorine in the gene pool!

What's comical is if utica just disappeared off the map tomorrow not only would the world not miss a beat but neither would the country or state. There's absolutely nothing there of significance at all.

I think the only uticans that run it think it's a group mass exiting from that region and that's why at the end they have to distract them with beer.
