What is going on over there? Board problems?

NH residents continue to complain on Topix about their pathetic scholastic sports situation.
Don't you think it would be more effective if you would approach someone in power to find a solution to your problem?

NUTSHELL VERSION
1. The board is a problem, yes because the members only concern is to be able to say they are on the NH school board; doing what is in the best interest of the students and community is not of their interest, save for one new member, but one against 6 is not good odds.
2.The issues are many but it originates with the AD. The entire program has become a self serving administration for him personally.
He has been allowed to by-pass rules for his own children in furthering of their athletic endeavors and hire and fire coaches based on his own personal interest. He does not care what people think because he knows the Superintendent will not do anything evidence by the hand picked advisory board that was established to monitor the athletic program as a result of the communities outrage with the athletic programs. The advisory board has the AD on it!!! HA
The stories, truths and goings ons are many and there is not enough space here to tell all.
3. New Hartford is home of the parent/coach. I believe there are approximately 9-10 parent coaches vs. Whitesboro 0 parent coaches.
Parents are hired by the AD and the board approves. When you have parents you have no certification as in teacher coaches who are automatically certified. When they are not certified the district is liable. That is what the one board member is trying to do. He is trying to square away the BS at that school, bring back integrity to the administration and get the taxpayers out from the liability of the decisions made by the AD.

the reason they have to go with parent coaches is because the teachers want nothing to do with coaching sports at NH because of the parents. Who wants to deal with the aggravation and listen to some nitwit parent because little Jimmy got cut or doesn't get enough time.

Nailed It!!!!! That is the reason 100% and the teachers that are coaching some of the sports right now have no right either - some never even played the sports the are coaching...... but your reason above is going to be the demise of all things NH Sports.

He did not nail it.
Agreed Nh parents are a pain like all other schools parents but NH DOES NOT HAVE to hire parents to coach and should not at the scholastic level.
Hiring parents causes even more crap and bias with the parents of jummy because now the coaches kid is in the mix. Best to have coach with no dog in the fight.
Whitesboro parents do not coach and the parents are just as much a pain as NH parents. I live there I know.
The difference between Whitesboro and NH is the AD NOT THE PARENTS.
The Whitesboro AD sees the big picture and has integrity does not go the easy route and hire cronies and those he can control and he has no kids in the school!! Huge difference. Notice the parents coaching are involved in all sports the AD kids are involved in!!
Teachers do not coach in NH for two very specific reasons:
1. the AD wont hire them because he cannot control them
2. The teachers want nothing to do with an unqualified AD
its not the parents they are trying to avoid its the AD
Lastly, you dont have to play the game to be an effective coach. In fact to be effective at the high school level 20% is x and o's and 80% involves all the periphery issues evaluating talent, coach/team relationship, execution, fundamentals etc.
100's of very successful coaches that never played their respective games.

guy nailed it. My brother in law lives in NH and his kids are good athletes and very involved so he has first hand knowledge. He has told me things about the ad/admin over there that have made my head spin ...from him drinking and drunk at NHLL game in the concession stand to breaking rules to accommodate his kids after they quit teams ,his wife still coaching after superintendent said she will not be allowed. Fired football coach so he could hire a crony and be a part of the coaching staff. Bro says sees NHAD in the press booth at football games with head set on and he was never allowed to do that with old coach and thats why he fired him, and fired girls hoop coach cause his daughter was not playing. Hey seems like a pattern Freaking residents are soft in NH letting that crap go on.

The AD should of been fired 3 years ago. Wboro AD is very fair and NH has the worst. Pete hires his cronies and the cronies hire there cronies and so on. NHLL is true. He has even coached LL drunk.

The NH AD has nobody to blame but himself and his wife. They controlled and coached every team their kids played on. The coaches that didn't play their kids were run out of the program . It was so transparent to everyone . Monkey see monkey do

I thought tryouts are closed to parents at NH but for some reason 1 certain parent always is aloud in to watch. Wow, so wrong. See why NH has issues!

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.
Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.
Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Casey struck out.
So Say Hey Willie, tell Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.
Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.
Yeah! I got it, I got it!
Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it's time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
It's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!
Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.
Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;

Yeah!

Because of this person, FD, internal problems are happening throughout NH with parents and kids. Again, different rules for different people is a no no. This guy is in Randall's pants along with a few others and it is wrong. Coaches should coach and parents should be parents. Simple, isn't it.

Your kidding me?? Oh God it just gets worse and worse with NH Athletics. Every day it is literally some new. We tried with Nole and he creates a self appointed advisory board with the AD on it. JOKE
If the Super wont do anything and the board wont do anything then what does anyone propose?
Look at the ad and hoop coach, michelin man and alfred e. newman what a motley pair, have to laugh. Big doings with them in their minds little do they know they are but are a speck on the page of life! They should both go back to there modeling careers!!
