how much does it cost for a kids to participate on the Utica Bulldogs team? Based on the numbers that I have compiled, the director of the Bulldogs is making over 10 thousand dollars this summer. Why is this happening? It must be nice for your kid to be the centerpiece of the team and get paid to watch your kid skate with such a great coach.

I heard was a lot more than 10. Sorry but we skate for free and all you parents are just way too easy or just plain stupid. We heard it first hand from the coach and director.

Why are you so worried about what someone is charging for their camp? Look at Blue line in Morrisville and see how much they charge, then start a post about who is making money in Morrisville. Look at Heenan's one week camp and see how much he charges per child (and that is for approximately 10 hours of ice time), then start a post about how much money Heenan is making....the point is that parents are paying for the coaches' knowledge and experience.

Why wouldn't any reasonably smart parent question the cost of a camp? Aren't they entitled to know what their money is buying them? Other than the knowledge and experience, 2-3 months of that seems very costly. Are they being trained to go pro at 8 or 9? Must be for that price.

Any reasonable smart parent should absolutely question the cost of a camp and decide if what is being offered is worth the price. That is not what the initial poster of this post was commenting on. He/she sounds very worried about how much money the instructor is making, which, will all due respect, is none of his/her business. Let's face it, there are baseball camps, basketball camps, hockey camps....don't you think the instructors are making some money? More power to them and who cares, as long as you feel the camp is worth it and you are getting what you want out of the camp, who really cares how much money is being made?

Actually, I think you would feel better the more money the coach makes. I don't know about you, but I would be a little more worried about the guy doing it for less money just because he "loves" kids. In that case, maybe he "loves" kids a little bit too much. So he gets paid $10K, that should make you feel better, right?

Look at the website dipsh*t. If these people cannot account for where the money is being spent then I do have a problem. Charging an outrageous fee for what? Tell me other than skate time and instructing are you telling me the instructor is getting paid $167.00 per hour for training young children? Wow, I guess I am in the wrong business.
I thoroughly checked out the wedsite. This organization should be very careful of what they are doing. It won't be long before most people catch on. Including the Labor Board and the IRS.

At first you sounded like a reasonable person, asking justifiable questions, leading me to believe we may have an intelligent debate. However, I gave you too much credit because intelligent people do not call others a [email protected] just because they don't agree.

When someone tells me that it is no one's business how money is spent on such an endeavor, dipsh*t is the nicest word I could come up with. Is ignorant better? I am sorry if I offended you. But your lack of intelligence on the above subject is sickening. If you want to throw your money away without guestion, you go right ahead. Most people these days like to know where it is going. This shouldn't be run like Wall St, where we just hand our money over and TRUST THAT IT WILL BE SPENT WISELY!!

Do you know the difference between a private business owner and a corporation with stockholders? If you bought a pizza from a local pizzeria, do you actually believe you have the right to know how the owner spends the money you spent there or how the owner spends his profits? Private business owners do not have to answer to anyone on how they spend their profits. You sound like you are entitled to know where the money goes...You're not entitled.

To my knowledge the Bulldogs are a Non-Profit organization, so yes I am entitled to know where every penny goes. And obviously you have a thing for pizza and that is all you could come up with for a reference for a private business owner.
I am indeed a private business owner of which have paid for advertisements for this organization and by reading all of the above, absolutely the last time I do. Hockey, seems as you are in the position to defend, which answers me this: your are possibly the director making a WHOLE BUNCH OF MONEY, ALONG WITH YOUR COACH or a parent who really wants their kid on the team. If so, you literally, "skate" around any comments to twist them around without remotely giving any explaination. Thats is ok. I think all who read this will get the answers they are looking for. Thank you hockey for your insite and tremendous knowledge. And by the way, I am also the President of a Corporation with many shareholders. How about you?

Just call the IRS tip line- google it. Let them know your concerns. The team also operated last year so I am sure they must have claimed something on their taxes.

Or you can always contact the Charities Bureau of the Atty Generals Office to ask questions regarding the legality of the fundraising. Bulldogs is not listed in the registry- so should not be fundraising and telling people they can claim it on their taxes. If the Bulldogs are listed under some other name, you can read their tax forms as submitted last year.

Have fun

One question.. why would you name the team after the old Utica Bulldogs that played here one year and stole all the season ticket holders money??

Who cares anyway. After one of the malcontents turns them in to the IRS and Atty General's Office, there won't be any teams to worry about and the folks in charge will be mining rocks with pick axes!
