What has happened to one of the areas most beautiful golf courses. The present management and staff, what little there is of one, has turned the place into a cow pasture. Don't blame the rain the place has been steadily going down hill. He over paid for the place to start with and now wants 1.75 million to get out from under his mistake. Time to play somewhere else.
I agree

Stupid chink fired everyone who knew how to grow grass. Destroyed one of the best courses in the area. Hopefully someone who has a green thumb takes it back.

It will take a boat load of $$$ and good business sense to restore this once great course. All the equipment is old and in major need of repair or replacement. Crabgrass and weeds all over the place. How does one keep a course of almost 7000 yds in shape with 2 guys? Twin Ponds has 5-6 guys and not anywhere rear the real estate to mow.

this gulf corse has a pretty creepy history to it.
you see it used to be part of the infamise
and the bulding just across the prison fence used
to be crane hill school the childrens unit of marcy
the kids from crane hill used to caddy this corse
no inmate or patient ever played gulf here. it was
a perk for those sadistic doctors that worked in
the asylum. it was one of meny state hospital owned gulf corses. what a rip off to the tax payers
of new york state. what business does a state hospital have in owning a gulf corse that its patients never get to play. it was a crime

there is one building on river rd. thats been
abandoned for years it is the FARM COLONY. it
looks creepy to this day. it would make a good
helloween huanted house. and the name
crane hill school came from the family cemetery
on river rd. boy how ironic is that. the crane
family donated the land to build the marcy asylum
you may never know when you will run in to one of the CHILDREN OF THE CRANE. we are the

the MARCY ASYLUM was built in 1923 as a branch
ASYLUM on court st in west utica. it was built in
1843. it was mouch older then marcy was. if you
want to see an awsome building. check out the
old main on court st. it almost looks like the
oridginal BEDLUM ASYLUM in england with its
masive pillars. i like to call it the
TEMPLE OF DOOM standing next to it is almost like. standing next to a GIANT TOMB a tomb in the
cemetery for the living. it must have been

to BWC . im doing this on a small andriod smart
phone. its kind of temper mento. im sorry that my
spelling my not be perfect. so please excuse me.
like i said on my outher blog. iv worked for 30 plus
years as a factory worker in syracuse ny. i was one
of those children at crane hill school. and i think
that poeple should know the history of this
gulf course. and that it was connected to souch a
hidius place as the MARCY ASYLUM or
( aka MARCY STATE HOSPITAL ) so the next time
you play gulf here. remember this place has a
dark history behind it

raise and take down the american flags both there
and up in front of CRANE HILL SCHOOL. in the
morning and at sunset. as a member of troop 45

im a little gulty of making fun of that place now.
i do like stepen king stories. back in the 80s i used
to give my friends. the tour of terra. i would drive
them thrue the campus and go in to some of the
buildings when it was still operating as an ASYLUM
chinc i had the inside scoop of that place. we would stop at the gulf course club house. and then we would finsh the with a stop at the legindary MARCY TAVERN for a couple of cold ones
just like the utica club brewery tour. yea driving
thrue the campus with the sound of METALLICA
playing SANITARIUM on my car sterio system

also at CRANE HILL SCHOOL we had a ski slope behind the building. so we all learned all about
going DOWN HILL at CRANE HILL so times i like
refere to it as the CRANE HILTON. yea it came with
a gulf course and a down hill ski slope. here you
could check in any time. but check time was often
delayed. some time for years. and some times
never. just like hotel california in camerollo california
