Elected Leaders and Data Center

Our local representation claims to have been blindsided by the state in regards to loosing the data center.
Does that mean that not one of our elected leaders bothered to monitor the project status over the last two years? What have you been doing? When the former governor announced this a couple of years back, at least one of our leaders should have made it a priority to continually check the status of the proposed project.
One can only speculate that if this was done, the state wouldn't have pulled it from us. Maybe they knew no one was watching!
