I have to take my hats off to these 2 council people in trying to get the railroad from new york city to lake placid going. This railroad will come through Utica. These guys are the only 2 elected officials in this city that are trying to do something constructive. Palmieri wants to destroy downtown with one lane traffic. Mayor Palmieri better start trying to promote Utica to business than walking around with his lackies and giving lip service.

Why don't these two numbskulls start on a budget that conforms with the 2% tax cap. They are part of the problem in Utica and stood by and watched it go down the tubes without saying one word as Julian and Roefaro were syphoning the water board funds and running up debt, not a word. Never voted against a tax hike as long as they have been elected officials and thats a fact.

That's right, through not stop. Trains only stop to board and let off passengers. There is no layover, no overnight accommodations. Quit pipe dreaming Uticans, this is NOT a destination now or will it ever be!

Zecca said people want to ride the train to see the wilderness. Jim this isn't Alaska, and we wonder why we never get anything done.

Isn't this the same track route where the "Santa Express" derailed last year?

Which council members have rejected tax hikes and vetoed or tried to over ride the Mayor's budget?

Utica, more than ever, needs an effective council. Only message that comes through loud and clear from council is they are ignored, mocked, muted, in the end, Uticans get the same results, higher taxes etc...Uticans are sick of the theatre press statements that lead to no where in the end.

For this to work, it will cost an estimated $47 million dollars to restore the tracks between Big Moose Station and Lake Placid.

Who is going to pay for that?

Just another political pipe dream ..... All to make you feel good ....... And nobody is getting off the train in Utica ......

Wake up idiots.
