Because of too many idiots turning Topix into a "less than credible" source of information as far as many are concerned, the serious stuff in here gets ignored... that's why people aren't looking to the mess and suspicious activity...

The board of the Rescue Mission is ridiculous ! They choose an outsider from buffalo to be the Executive Director, who they say is the right age to run their corporation. He has no experience .They have a great guy who everyone loves and respects from their own community. The board went against the Mayors choice ,counsel men and the most important of all the community and their iwn staff. They used him for over a year to run the mission and strung him along. The donations have increased over this past year. Not only that the he loves his job, staff and really wants to help the people who go to the Rescue Mission for help . They say he is to young at 37, but the Executive Director of the Rescue Mission in Syracuse is only 38. I say this is BULL!!! I think the head of the Rescue Mussion should re- evaluate the board of the Utica branch. I think something corrupt is going on. Does anyone else think something is wrong with giving a position to an outsider and not our own?????

This guy Ernest Talrico is honest, smart, loves the mission, the community loves him, has young and fresh ideas, Palmieri likes him, I guess That is the reason the board is afraid, I feel bad for the new guy, he does NOT KNOW, what he is walking into. I will call my grandmother and ask her not to send her pension money.

A sad day at the Utica Mission. The Board (Mike "the Boss" Fitzgerald, Tom "the Prick" Wattles, and Paul "the Puppet" Plevritis with side kick CFO Mike Dow) once again has crapped on the Mission staff and the community; this time by selecting Jim Haid as the next Exec Director. Most people are already looking at him the same way they look at the two-faced corrupt snakes that hired him. I guess this being Jim Haid's fourth job since 2010 does not send up a red flag. He has no experience in running a program with an Addiction Crisis Center. One of the last programs he helped organize was just about ran into the ground.
The Board has dragged Ernie Talerico, his family, the staff, and the community thru the dirt since last year! This Board needs to change, they have no interest in the welfare of the Mission, only themselves. Why do you think they paid Dodge off with a huge settlement? Especially when they had proof of him being in a "sex scandal" (I've seen the proof and nude sketchings). They had a chance to begin the healing process for making the city of Utica and Mission staff put up with Dodge for years by hiring Ernie Talerico as the next Exec Director. Ernie is a man of the Lord, integrity, respect, honesty, & vision. They would not hire Ernie because he has these great characteristics. They want a corruptible partner to help keep Fitzgerald's and Dow's book cooking under the radar. Well fellas, the time is almost up on your fraudulent gig. People are standing up to you, from the staff to the community!(Mike Dow is the lush at the Comets games double fisting beers- a good reflection of what the Mission stands for, right? This is the Board's right hand executive man that played a huge role in discouraging the Board from selecting Ernie Talerico)
Do not get me wrong about the staff at the Rescue Mission, a majority of the staff truly has a heart for the Mission. It's the Board and Mike Dow that are the asses here! Why have some of these people been on the Board since 1986? They have no vision for taking the mission into the future because they are stuck in the 80's and further back! Ann Canfield, 1987, wanted to bring Dodge back saying, "I'm sure he has learned his lesson." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This Board has to go!
Step aside you unproductive, shady, lying snakes and let Ernie and all the supporting staff that cares about the clients and this city run this Rescue Mission!

What!!!! They took an outsider. One who has no ties to our community. This is an inside job, I smell a rat. Has this person paid a red cent of taxes to our community?????? Someone was owed a favor. Shame on you board of directors, it's time someone brings you to your knees.

So true about Mike "the snake" Dow. I am a former employee. He stabbed me in the back and kept me from getting the promotion I deserved. I left after being there for almost 8 years. I am much better off now, Mr Haid protect your back from the cut throat Dow. Trust me He will smile in your face and ram it up your ass whenever he can.

The mission has been fraudulent for years. This is the reason Dodge lasted for 10 yrs. Dodge was a pawn who the board used as a front man and a fall guy. The crooked bookkeepers would shuffle money right under Dodges nose. He was to stupid to know. That's what the board wants again, someone who they can manipulate. If this wasnt true they would have elected Mr Talerico. As an ex employee, I personally worked with him. He is loved by the consumers, staff, and community. I say it's time for the staff to take drastic measures. I never have donated because I know the truth about the organization. One thing I will do is spread the word about the injustice that has been done.

We are asking the media to please, investigate the board, this is going too long, we also asking the Mayor to get involved, I heard Bill Dodge the previous director was ousted from the mission in Philly, so is true what this people are saying, shame on this Pharasees. Elect Mr Ernie that belongs in the mission front and not an outsider, who knows nothing about our community.

A FOIL request must "reasonably describe" the records which are requested. N.Y. Pub. Off. Law ß 89(3)(McKinney 1988). The failure of a requester to reasonably describe desired records is a ground for nondisclosure that is entirely separate from the exemption provisions. Lebron v. Smith, 40 A.D.3d 515, 837 N.Y.S.2d 74 (1st Depít 2007)(dismissing petition where petitioner failed to describe the documents sought with sufficient specificity); Konigsberg v. Coughlin, 68 N.Y.2d 245, 251, 501 N.E.2d 1, 508 N.Y.S.2d 393 (1986); Mitchell v. Slade, 173 A.D.2d 226, 569 N.Y.S.2d 437 (1st Dep't 1991)(the burden is on the requester to reasonably describe the records, and the agency is not required to solicit additional information to identify the records).
Records have been held to be reasonably described when the agency is able to locate them. Capital Newspapers Div. of Hearst Corp. v. Burns, 67 N.Y.2d 562, 496 N.E.2d 665, 505 N.Y.S.2d 576 (1986); M. Farbman & Sons v. New York City, 62 N.Y.2d 75, 464 N.E.2d 437, 476 N.Y.S.2d 69 (1984). See Dunlea v. Goldmark, 54 A.D.2d 446, 389 N.Y.S.2d 423 (3d Dep't 1977), aff'd, 43 N.Y.2d 754, 377 N.E.2d 798, 401 N.Y.S.2d 1010 (1977)("budget examiner's file" not too vague); Town of Woodstock v. Goodson-Todman Enterprises, 133 Misc.2d 12, 505 N.Y.S.2d 540 (Sup. Ct. 1986)(granting access where records reasonably described); Zanger v. Chinlund, 106 Misc.2d 86, 430 N.Y.S.2d 1002 (Sup. Ct. 1980)(granting access to "all information and documents" relating to incidents of violence at particular prison over 3 year period).

Mr Talerico needs to leave the mission. That's the best way to stick it to the Judas's of the organization. Ernie leave, let the mission reap what it has sowed. Just like Judas they will hang themselves with guilt in the end.

We, the Utica community are calling for the mayor to look into this, there is a reason why they do not want a good, honest man, and above all, son of the community, investigate this outsider, who is he, does he have mission experience, what are his achievements, and most important, is he another fraud like Dodge,
