I do agree that the people themselves are to blame by electing and reelecting the same bunch of idiots over and over and watching Utica go down the tubes in front of their own eyes and doing nothing but complain. Glad I left long ago. Sorry.

Hatred, hatred and more hatred. Hearts full of hatred against Bosnians and blacks and everyone else. Oneida County is crumbling. Unemployment, high county taxes and a corrupt government. Yet, we do nothing and spew hatred not against the corrupt government. We let those politicians roll right over us, but instead we direct hatred towards each other. Fabulous that Oneida County will continue to be run by the corrupt and fabulous that we will all continue to exist in this constant state of misery.
very well said these people are clueless..they speak of diffrent races and dont realize the community needs to come together otherwise it just gets worse...what was in the past is exactly that..the past

I will clarify my previous statement.....All of the 'honest' Italian families that allowed people such as Rufus Elefante and his ilk, From East Utica, his corruption was made possible by the Italian Community that created a buffer zone around known criminal enterprises such as the Mafia. So thank all the little old Italian ladies that speak of how things USED to be. Things are what theya re now because theses hoods were protected by their own Italian people. The hoods inturn either bribed or scared public officials into submission on many issues.

Speaking of a little 'history lesson'...

When the hard working and 'no speekah English' Italians first landed in Utica, the Irish welcomed them with open arms. With bats, fists and bricks. The Paddys felt threatened by the newcomers and threw every obstacle they could in the path of the unsuspecting immigrants.
How did Rufie get his power? By helping the new wave of immigrants with jobs, problems, anything. And if members of the Irish 'welcoming committee' did something bad to one of his countrymen, the Paddy ended up with problems of his own.

Remember how the first Godfather movie started? If you think that was made up, guess again. My grandfather had problems with an boorish Irish neighbor. He got a visit from a couple of guys who'd heard and asked him if the neighbor needed an 'accident' to teach the neighbor a lesson.
The hoods you referred to were hoods and criminals, but the Irish power structure only knew fear and force and were dealt with accordingly.

yea, I am going to agree with you on that....The choices are always the same...one candidate or another from an 'established'(Italian) family that will do their absolute best to siphon off every vent of tax dollars. The money usually disappears no one asks any questions...and then 4 years later we get to do it all over again.

History shows you weren't very successful. Those 'fair skinned women' you're referring to had been misled into thinking a 2" Irish weenie is the most they'd ever get. 50 years of 'immigrant' sausage have made them continue to want the real thing. Ever hear of an 'Irish toot'? That the horn toot Paddies make as they pull in their driveways so we can slip out the back windows of your homes and not have to give you beating infront of your 'fair skinned women'.
You keep thinking this way and you'll keep providing for our dark haired offspring.
