Clearly Hannaford and others have considered the census data, which is why they have not opened a store there. Duh!
Rite Aide looked at the same data and built a brand new store.

Not true. Hannaford will never open a store in a remote area like Barnevald. There is no profit for them in doing so. They stay in larger metropolitan areas like Utica and New Hartford where there is a steady flow of customers. Population in the Barnevald area is too small for Hannaford to even consider.
You are so wrong. It's what they do. They just opened a store in Delanson (15 miles from the nearest city) and it's always busy. They cater to the many hundreds of rural families who don't want to drive 20 miles to buy groceries.

Lol - Trader Joe's wouldn't consider Syracuse, much less Barnevald.

Delanson is just outside Duanesburg and Delanson is NOT a rural area. Barneveld IS a rural area.

There is a Hannaford in West Sand Lake, NY and that is about as rural as Barneveld. Seriously though, Trader Joes is coming, no wait, sorry Whole Foods is

Well... Duanesburg itself is a rural area... so it stands to reason that Delanson (or Esperance) being 10 miles further out. ARE indeed also in a rural area. Do you live there? No? The stfu.
