bad service

Nassau, NY

There service is so terrible. It took there there service guy mark six times of coming back and forth to fix my air conditioner. Then they charged me close to a thousand dollars for the repair that I think he messed up to begin with when they installed the unit. Then to top it all off the owner Harry gee won't even return any of my phone calls. Beware of this company. They promise unicorns and rainbows before they get your money but once Harry gets that money you won't hear back from him. This place is terrible. Has anyone else had this type of experience?

I have no problem paying to get my unit fixed if that's what you are insinuating. But in my eyes the problem should have been fixed in the first two times of being there. Three times tops. Not six. I shouldn't have to pay six times of different parts and lots
Of labor to change said parts. I understand these systems can be tough to work on but come on. Hire someone qualified. His vehicle says the hvac doctor. If it was so difficult to fix he should have pulled his nurse off the job an sent in a surgeon. But he wouldn't even return my call. Just wanted to see if I'm the only disgruntled customer or if there are others with similar situations.

Stfu? What is that about. Just cause you had a good experience doesn't mean I didn't have a bad one. I had a warranty but it was up. Like I said it shouldn't take that many times to fix something. If you took your car to the service department and it took them six times to fix something. Each time you took it it was a different part plus labor, you wouldn't think something was up? Come on. And if I was a business owner and I had a customer that was dissatisfied with my companies service I would have returned there phone call at the very least. Just saying mr stfu

I can say I have used them several times and, had no bad experiences. They did the job we talked about, and I paid the price he estimated for. Actually one time they gave me a few things to look at. When I did it resolved the problem, I called them back, and they said great you avoided a service call.

My advise to anybody is, know something about things you use. Ask questions and understand what is being done. I actually don't believe your original post, but to each his own.

i wouldnt hire him just because he cant even think of an original name, he had to rip off someone elses business name...if i was city suburban i would give him two choices change the name or my pipe wrench meets your teeth! i mean really what kind of POS does that when he starts a business...plus i know he used to make frequent trips to the bars bathrooms and i dont think he had a bladder problem

Thank-you for not tying them up, when we need them. Bet City can't start anything, because they don't want anymore bad publicity. 3391

There is a little more to the story about how he started his business...
It is my understanding that Harry worked at City Suburban for several years. I heard that Harry was a very important part of building the business at City Suburban several years ago. To make a long story short...Harry left the business. Some of the details of the situation are unclear, but I heard from a reliable source that there was some sort of settlement and/or buyout of Harry by City Suburban. Harry then used the large amount of money to start his new business (Country Suburban) and build a very nice showroom in Utica. Each company has their own version of the story, but it seems to be reliable that Harry started his business with the settlement that he received when he left. I am not saying anything good or bad about either company...this stuff happens in business all the time.
When I was gathering quotes for a new system, Harry seemed to be reasonably knowledgeable and definitely a very persistent salesperson. He kept calling me to see if I had made a decision yet. I have to give him credit that he wanted me to come out and see some of the similar jobs that he was working on at the time. He also gave me a professional looking quote with good information outlining the options that we discussed.
I ended up not using Country Suburban (or City Suburban either). While Harry seemed to be knowledgeable and seeemed to have a successful business, something turned me off with his communications skills as a salesperson. I ended up going with a smaller company where the person that was selling me the system was going to be doing the actual installation of the system. Therefore, I was able to ask all of my questions to the salesperson, installer, service technician and the owner because they were all the same person.
My only experiences with City Suburban and Country Suburban were limited to my research and the quotes that I received from each of them. I might(?) consider getting quotes from each of the companies again if I needed work in the future, but I guarantee that I would be meeting with as many companies as possible. Do your own research and ask many questions!!! It is important to be very comfortable with the company that you choose when you sign the contract and give them the deposit.

Thank you for all this information...I need to purchase a new furnace, my old one got damage during the summer flood..I have had a few estimates, one of them from Country Suburban..I called them and Harry was at my house the next day which made me very happy..I hate to wait...Harry seemed very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail which I appreciated since I don't know very much about furnaces. Anyway about 4 days after Harry's visit to my home I received a quote in the mail and it has been about 7 days now and he has not called me to see if I have made a decision yet, so hence I do not find him pushy at all. I have gotten a couple of other quotes and Country Suburban seems to be the better price so far for the same unit and same job..I have not made a decision yet..I appreciate any information or input I can Get..I got a quote from Sears and Home Depot and they are about $2,500 more than Country Suburban.

Collis is the best by far. A little pricier but none compare to their knowledge and customer service.

they are all crooks. Most homeowners get sucked in by the local mob. Shop around in other big city like Syracuse ,you will save hundreds.

Gordon's HVAC INC. Is definitely the best in CNY! I called once and within a few hours my unit was working. The guy there is unbelievably brilliant with this stuff. They had great prices too, certainly the cheapest I have ever been charged. http://gordonshvac.com

Hi, I know I'm a little late, but Gordon's HVAC INC. Of CNY Has the cheapest prices I have ever seen and have quick service. I called once and within a few hours my unit was fixed, when many other companies in cny couldn't fix it. Give them a try.
