I like all the experts with their opinions. You weren't at the tryouts but you have an opinion? Based on what? Your opinion was crafted because your kid got cut. It helps you sleep at night. Spend some time with your kid and they might be better.

HIT? Hitting 10 rubber balls in a batting cage one day when the ball is coming in at their knees doesn't show hitting ability.
Coaches don't even realize they are being used by their "friends"
You people are killin' me. If u know anything about baseball, you would know if a person can hit just by watching them swing the bat, not if they happen to make contact on that day. You watch a kid swing 10 times, you know whether he'll hit. A 'little knowledge' is a dangerous thing, and most posters here know NOTHING.

He saved face by not getting cut. There's always track or lacrosse.

How about unimpressed.
Have to wonder if he would have the position on his own;...coincidence?

Wboro = great talent, terrible overall program. Kids never seem to improve much from LL. So many kids participating in the youth levels, hard not to be decent by default... But they could be a force if they had the right coach!

Seems like a great many championships at that school for one that 'needs the right coach'.LOL

Modified wasn't as bad this year as last, except of course the coaches kids. One def shouldn't be on that team. JV had a few iffy picks that are questionable as well. If coaches could put aside their personal side (which they can't) the teams would be better than they are.

Bill, calm down. Talent will eventually prevail. Lived it and still living it. Don't agree with it and never will. Not just the picks, but the entire process and coaching mind set. V is a joke, JV not much better, and Mod had some questionable picks as well. There will always be kids that come up short. Sorry it was your kid, but TOPIX is nothing more than a forum for haters.

Need to get some of the coaches to do something else, where they don't have to opportunity to make suggestions on what players (their friends or own children) get picked. I don't know how they can look people in the eyes, everyone knows.
Jake wrote:
Modified seems to keep all the upper coaches kids and friends together and JV ends up being no better. Doesn't matter if you can't hit past the pitcher as well as it doesn't matter if you bat 170 for the season because you got 2 homeruns! Only matters if you know the coach or if your kid is friends with theirs. Coaches with kids in the school shouldn't be allowed to help pick teams. No matter what is done, you cannot get past the Biasim they are going to have.

Brutal honesty makes me tell you that if I were coaching in Whtb I wouldn't keep any kid from MD b/c I know what the parents would be like.

bitching on TOPIX?
Were the selections perfect? No
Is McQueen qualified? Yes
Is life fair? No
Will W'boro have a good year? Yes
Teach your kids to deal with it, work harder, and get better. It only gets tougher.
It's just baseball.

Hi joe,
Might I ask you why you are so incompetent and feel mcQueen isn't qualified? He has every kids best interest always. He's a great guy/coach and friend. You're some tough guy who hides behind a computer screen. Why don't you swallow your mouse and leave the guy alone!

keep the coaches little bats polished and they will let your child get some playing time on the field as well. My kid can't hit to save his life, but I keep the balls a shining so he can keep a playing!

What does it matter? None of those retard factories ever graduated anyone who knew how to earn a living. The results speak for themselves when you seriously spend this much time wondering if your fat little upstate bred cornfed hedgehog educated in the poorest schools in the nation will "make the big big team" so they can have a "championship" cloth hanging in their gym.

With people like this educating kids it's no serious mystery why correction hobs are the big future there. This is the usual programmed failure at work. "Sports first" has done wonders for your area lmao!
