Ok, lets get your take on 5 or 6 Troopers stopping every vehicle and checking our papers and peeking into our cars looking for illegal contraband. This has been reviewed by the U.S. Supreme court and found to be Constitutonal ONLY for DWI check points AND when the public is notified of the time and place.
Stopping everyone violates the 4th Ammendment.

they are illegal searches and are in violation of the 4th amendment. this is not the USSR.

Its supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. A roadblock is the total opposit, its treating everyone like they are guilty until otherwise found to be innocent.

Well, the easiest way to make the roadblocks ineffective is to NOT consent to search if you are asked to pull over.

Be polite, and if asked, repeat "I do not give my consent to search this vehicle."
Make them get a warrant, which is what is required unless you have contraband in plain view.

If 20-20 cars did this, they would eventually get the message.

Denying a request to search you or your vehicle does not equate to probable cause. If they have to ASK your permission to search, then that implies that they do not already have legal grounds to search your vehicle...otherwise, why would they ask?

Would you feel the same way if they showed up at your door and asked if you minded them taking a look inside your house?

The 4th amendment doesn't cease to exist just because you're driving a vehicle.

What "equipment inadequacies" would they be checking while feeling around under the seat? Is the center console where most "overloading" takes place?

You're confusing "safety inspection" with "improper search." They're not the same thing.

<quoted text>This isn't but the tip of the iceberg. I have a lifelong friend that trains police dogs and he tells me many police self-train their dogs to false hit on their subtle ques. Essentially, these corrupt police get called in when they have hard cases refusing permission and that eliminates people's rights right there. You like how that works? You've all been had for years.
All the more reason why they cannot be trusted. If they'll train dogs this way, what's to stop them from planting evidence in your vehicle?

No warrant necessary to search a motor vehicle, trunk and all containers therein - the officer only needs probable cause.

do not stop, keep right on going. they have no probable cause to stop you in the first place.

Consent to search a motor vehicle is an exception to the probable cause requirement. Even if he has probable cause an officer will always ask permission (consent) to search. Two valid grounds to search(probable cause + consent)are better than one. If there is probable cause and you refuse the officers request to search, guess what? The officer is going to search anyway.
