Please get me out of this miserable city. No jobs. No economy. No base. We do have a fort though so I guess that's a positive. All I do is eat all day to the point I can't even fit in my Hyundai anymore. Please help.

Perhaps you could get a bigger vehicle to fit you. Maybe a dump truck?
thanks

I really do not know how I made it out of there alive. I can't explain it...you would have to live there to know. You would have to be a kid that does not have alot of money to know just exactly how evil the "people" of Rome, NY can be.

What the hell does that mean? I also come from Rome. We didn't have a ton of money (middle class) but it was a great place to grow up. The base was booming and the city was thriving. Not sure which "evil people" you're talking about. I will say it has gone downhill a lot in the last 25 years

Hey! Don't bash Rome. It's the only thing that makes Utica look even remotely good.

I agree whole-heartedly. Wasn't a bad place to grow up at all. Good people, restaurants, bars education. The changes over the past 25 years are unfortunate. My quesation is and has been this: What good really came of the monies given to the City upon the base closure? Who benefitted from it all because the people of that city have not?
