People park everywhere on almost every lot for a few block in every direction, and have done so for years, obviously you have no concept of what is going on here and are ignorantly commenting.

You must be a moron, this is not about parking in that lot, no one cares about the lousy 7 parking spots. The signs are hidden behind other vehicles. This is about taking advantage of unsuspecting families and their children, and leaving them stranded while their car is taken out of town illegally by an operator not licensed to do business in the city. This is nothing more than a scam and the only motivation in making a point of this is to get the word out so it will not happen any more. One of the victims was a pregnant mother with a toddler in hand...... do you get it now?
Get it through yur head, NO PARKING,,,THE DRIVER HAS NO IDEA WHO THE CAR BELONGS TO ARE HOW MANY, HOW OLD OR YOUNG THE PEOPLE ARE, ONLY THAT HE WAS ASKED TO TOW THE CARS BY THE OWNER..BOTTOM LINE>>

Simple solution is to stay out of Utica and don't go there for anything. Come to New Hartford where you can park for free and never get a parking ticket. Lots of free parking and plenty of places to spend your money. If everyone did the smart thing and stayed out of the local dump, aka Utica, then maybe the people in Utica who are in charge would get the message.

Actually the UPD was responding to Stolen Car reports, because they were NOT notified by the Towing service, that the Cars had been Towed.
