These folks are constantly making terroristic demands on public officials. My fear is one day they may eventually acquire weapons of mass destruction and become powerful dictators. Any thought on what these radicals hope to accomplish besides chaos. I'm not sure they even know.

Fairness, thats all, fairness. Politics are at there worst levels in NH. From the so called AD, to the coach who coaches 2 varsity teams and to wealthy parents that payoff for there kids to play. It is all a proven truth.

They're good at bringing up opposing views but are hellbent at steering opinion the way they see things. A little too radical to get elected themselves so they align with needy candidates like Backman that don't have a chance.

CC should put information out there and let people decide instead of trying to jam it down everyone's throats. That's what turns people off.

Maybe Don promised a position for Cathy ... Hmmm lol

The level of desperation of the Tyksinski organization is certainly evident on Topix. 7 threads so far and counting.

Footballhead, get help.

I commend their efforts but their radical behavior and guerrilla tactics on forums such as this one open the door for pure entertainment. It's so easy getting them fired up by posting a pro Pat or Linda comment. It sends them off the deep end. While the rest of us are busy living life, these crime fighters are busy responding to every post with the same old conspiracy theory drivel. The rich will only get richer and the poor will only get poorer. Ride the titanic down or learn to play the game. Money makes the world go around. No different than invading Syria to get at Iran. This small town stuff is nothing in the grand scheme. Seriously, if you have flood issues... Common sense suggests that you move.

Common sense says if you live in a house with flood prone issues that no one will want to buy it....

The town needs to address the flood issues by more than just telling people they need to move (unless of course they are planning on buying homes at market value in these flood prone areas).

Even if people move and are able to sell a house in a flood prone area then the problem is transferred to someone else.

I really do not understand your arguement. This is why I plan to vote for Backman and am encouraging others....

wont change a thing. Backman hasnt done anything to stop the flooding or to even get the ball rolling.

His so-called plan is just more of the same old nothing.

Supervisor's job, not his. There is no stormwater committee that I am aware of to address the issue. I guess Backman could have been a part of such a committee if one existed. Supervisor had a full term anto address the issue and it was not adequately addressed. Time to bring in some new blood.

Vote Backman on September 10th.

I'm just really surprised at all the negativity I see posted by those supporting Don Backman. He had my vote but I'm voting for Pat Tyksinski now. Especially if Don is tied into radical group that wants to close the library.

There WAS a storm water committee, that had regular meetings, whose charter was to spend the available bond money (at the time) in a rational and FAIR fashion. That was accomplished, and real storm water issues were tended to in a fair way, but the problems far outstripped the bond money. When the bond money was spent, the committee was dissolved (by?). Some advocated continuing the committee, since it had assembled considerable information that was, and is, still pertinent to the storm water problems (that the bond money couldn't address) that NH continues to have (just because the bond money is spent doesn't mean that it stopped raining). The bond money, as we can all see now, was insufficient to correct all of the many problems that NH still has due to a number of things.

I attended many of those committee meetings. At the meetings that I attended, Mr. Backman and Mr. Machione were the only public officials to attend and participate in those meetings. I disagree with some of the positions that Mr. Backman took, but he was THERE advocating a position and trying to get something done. That doesn't mean that I am going to vote for him, but he was there, and he did apply, for me anyway, the level of care that I expect from an elected official. To say that he has done absolutely nothing about the storm water problems is simply ignorant of the events of the past few years.

How the decision was made to dissolve the committee i do not know.

As for the CC, the main thing I think they're after is accountability. They document and cite facts and events toward that end. If you disagree with what they've presented, then you can disagree, because this is America and you are entitled to disagree, just as the CC is entitled to do their thing.
