According to the biography Beth Soggs has on the website she was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved her in the late 1990's as an adult. So, how did you know them all attending NH? Ironic?
Now, I will research Fred and Lou and will get back to you?

There is someone who has taken a great deal of time to research what is happening in education today, and someone who is the ONLY candidate who has REGULARLY attended the BOE meetings this year, and that person is Alexis Tangorra! King and Deck are puppets controlled on a string by her neighbor - the NH athletic director. Stephens is a yes man for the administration. Our young children's educational future is at stake. Please consider Tangorra!

I would have to agree. They know first hand the AD and his wife only care about themselve. In my opinion Mrs King is running because of her discust of the self serving ways of the AD. He has and will do nothing for anybody unless he or his kids can benefit. This guy is the ultimate selfish guy. He's not respected or well liked.Unfortunately he is tolerated for fear of our kids getting screwed!!!!!!!!!!

SO SO WRONG. Ms King hates the so called AD and has proof to incriminate him. You couldn't be more wrong. As for DECK, he is being supported by the sports department to keep his buddies around so his kid has a free ride. His kid is so over-rated and he tries to control the system. He has only lived here for 4-5 years too. He has no clue about anything but his kid playing sports. Worst candidate there is, unless you like the corruption.

No, we don't all agree on that at all. Mr. Nole is highly regarded by the majority of New Hartford residents and think the vote to extend his contract was a sound educational decision. Anyone running as an anti-Nole candidate and the people that support them do not have the best interests of the New Hartford School District at heart. Jim Stephens deserves re-election to the thankless job of a School Board member.

You are delusional. Drive around town and see all of the signs from the candidates who are running for School Board. People are not happy with the status quo. Bob Nole is an over paid under performer. Jim Stephens is going to lose his seat precisely for his support of Bob Nole. Just watch

How can anyone justify extending his contract two years ahead of time as being a "sound educational decision"? Really! Even those who voted for the extension can not justify their own decision, so I don't think you can.

A sound educational decision would be to let his contract come up for renewal and renegotiate the contract based on performance. Why even bother with a contract, the same board members who extended his contract gave him an interim contract raise, just because he asked for it.

Really?

So the school board believes that what's good for Bob Nole is good for the district.

Nole: Hi school Board! I can really help the kids if you give me a 3% pay raise on top of my$200,000 a year salary.

School Board: sure Bob! Anything for the kids!

Nole: Hi School Board! I think I can really help the kids if you extend my contract two years early.

School Board: sure Bob! Anything that will help the kids!

That's the way the New Hartford School Board functions right now. It cannot continue. Stephens must go this year. Soggs and Philipson must go next.

Early extensions are a common practice with school boards and serve a useful purpose. Their is an expense to districts when a supt seeks employment elsewhere and leaves. Early extension of the contract is a sign to the supt to not go looking for opportunity elsewhere. It is obvious your position is clouded by a personal vendetta for Mr. Nole. That is not how we conduvt school business in New Hartford. If you are so unhappy why don't you go elsewhere. We will be happy to release you from your contract.

People who espouse an agenda that amounts to a coup de tat are dangerous and irresponsible. We do not hatch plans like that which you are suggesting. If thats what you are telling the voters that you and your friends are doing then they are not interested in what you are peddling. As I suggested to another poster, if you are so unhappy, LEAVE! New Hartford will be a better place without you.

Early extensions should only be given based on a full review of the performance of the person up for extension. Cramming a decision in one meeting when you have to call an absent board member to come in to break a tie, does not demonstrate good policy. I don't care if the person is the best superintendent NH ever had - it should have been tabled for further discussion.

If I wanted to leave NH, I would. I don't need the likes of you giving me permission to move. By the way, I love New Hartford!

I don't agree with board members and a superintendent not doing their respective job! It is time for the superintendent to be held accountable for his actions (good and bad) and for the board to follow policy! If you don't like it, then you can move! I have no vendetta against Mr. Nole, actually I never wrote anything personal against him. So how do "we" conduct business in NH? Do we extend the contract of a superintendent who proposes unqualified coaches when he knew full well they were not qualified? Yes, "we" do and we do it really fast before new board members come on the board - that's just how "we" conduct business in NH. Well that is not how I conduct business in NH. I review all sides in order to make an informed and well thought out decision. That is what I expect of the BOE.

Well you're delusional as well. All your posts center on removing the superintendent. That happens to be Mr. Nole. To even pretend you are fair and balanced is a joke. You and Fox News have a lot in common. You are willing to upturn an entire school district at a cost of tens of thousands, actually hundreds of thousands, because you are upset about how some coaches were selected? Are you serious? Is there any brain function going on there?

As taxpayers we expect rules to be followed. The district has dropped dramatically in national rankings and expenses and waste are increasing. There have been numerous instances were rules were not followed and no action was taken. As a taxpayer i expect the board to be a watchdog and not a liberal cheerleader.

You seem to be the impartial one here, for you attack anyone who wants the BOE to follow rules and make decisions based on facts and policy. And, that means holding the superintendent responsible to following policy as well - not rewarding it! I never said the superintendent needs to be removed, just held responsible for his actions! Currently it is the fault of the BOE for not bringing him to task for going against policy, even when he knows he is, and for rewarding him no matter what he has done. There are certain BOE board members who just rubber stamp everything he asks without any thought to policy!

How the coaches were proposed by the superintendent was totally against state policy and he knew it! Not only did he do it after it was explicitly brought to his attention, but he did it again the next session, because some members of the BOE let him get away with it the first time, then they gave him a raise! As a boss, I would be concerned about an employees blatant disregard for policy and I certainly would not be rewarding it. Would I fire him, not without a full review of everything else he has done which I don't believe was ever done before he was given a raise or an extension.

So, who is delusional? I think you need to look in a mirror, because you certainly are not "the voice of reason". You seem to think that the BOE needs to keep their heads in the sand and support the superintendent no matter what he does - not the best way to conduct business for that is when the "employee" becomes the "boss". I believe that people make mistakes, but not to learn from your mistakes and continue to make the same one time after time is some one who doesn't care what they do or has no idea!

It's obvious from the arrogant tone of the "Voice of Reason" that we have a School Board member posting here demonstrating all the arrogance that the people of New Hartford are getting tired of.

Sorry School Board Member:

-Voters are tired of hiring unqualified coaches.

-Voters are tired of 3% pay raises for an already overpaid and under performing School Superintendent.

- Voters are tired of National School Rankings that are dropping every year.

- Voters are tired of unnecessary early contract extensions for an under performing School Superintendent.

- Voters are tired of arrogant School Board Members who say "that's the way WE do it in New Hartford and if you don't like it LEAVE".

- Voters are tired of School Board members like Beth Soggs who text boyfriends during School Board meetings

- Voters are tired of School Board members like Jim Stephens who's only answer to why he voted to extend Bob Nole's contract two years early is " Only the experienced Board members can understand."

- Voters want a school board that is independent, humble as public servants and that are not sitting there all starry eyed as Bob Nole asked for yet another raise.

Dear Voice of Reality: I think your relationship to reality is tenuous at best. I assure you I am not a board member. Furthermore, my suggestion to "leave" had only to do with your apparent unhappiness. Certainly a move to Clinton or Whitesboro will effect a positive change in your outlook. Again you reveal your petty vendettas and myopic and wrong minded view of our School District. The fact is we are a top rated district with great teachers, dedicated administrators, outstanding students and a supportive community that understands the challenges that teachers, administrators and students deal with day and day out in a complex and ever changing world.
