Can't agree more with Deck. He is a rubber stamp like a few others to keep his buddies in sports afloat. They are sinking and they had this guy run. Deck is the problem. He thinks he controls the sports for his son. And the AD and coaches are a bad group of people.
Still voting deck. He and Flemma are the only ones with any ba**s to do anything. At least these two think of the students, and know when their "buddies" do something stupid.

The AD is a lazy arrogant pos. No way in hell would his kids have been moved up in sports if he wasn't the AD.He has not been good for NH and his wife also. Its only about their kids .

We have to save our school. A vote for Luker and Stephens is a vote for Nole and Alvanos

Deck is in bed with the AD and coaches. He is just the opposite of flemma. Deck only cares about his buddies in sports not education. Get real poster. Deck no good at all.

New Hartford elections have nothing to do with who is qualified or who is fair. It is just a popularity contest. The "connected" class wants to maintain their power and keep the sheeple out of town business. Don't ask too many questions. Go with the flow or feel their wrath. The school district, the library, the police dept, the DPW, all are controlled by the power elite. Good luck getting things to change in New Hartford.
Yup. It's not all about what you know. It's about who you know and who you blow.

Stop wasting time writing about how bad the AD and Superintendent are; If you want change, call the individuals who are running for School Board to whom you feel will promote change and the well being of the district and ask what you can do to help them be successful in their election.

From what I have heard Kim Luker is not running this year. Jim Stephens tends to be more of a follower, then a leader. Fred Deck appears to be friends with previous Board Members, the AD and Superintendent. Ralph Fusco is related to Ed Flemma and a lawyer who appears to promote change to the betterment of the school district. Pam King appears to be liked by the "old" regime and those promoting change, therefore, I am not sure where she stands - maybe on the fence. As for the other candidates, I do not think there is enough information out there yet to determine their platform which may not make them effective - if they can not stand out as a candidate will they be a leader or follower as a Board Member.

So, cut thru the BS. All candidates feel they have something to add to the Board, otherwise, why would they be subjecting themselves to all the back stabbing and negativity of running. And, if elected, the continued abuse by those who sit around and talk crap, but do not have any constructive opinions or solutions to help get NH back up on top academically and athletically.

Remember, it was Kim Luker, Jim Stephens, Beth Soggs and Lisa Philipson who rushed the vote to extend Bob Nole's contract almost two years before it was to end. Now, it appears Kim Luker is not running for re-election. Based on perception, this decision appears to be one made to help Bob Nole before the new Board could do anything about it. Was this really in the best interest of the community? It sure makes you think.

Well, I know who I am going to call and offer my help to - do you?

Now you see why "just moving away" from the entire state becomes helpful and much faster. Good luck waiting for the "problems to be solved" there.

I'm so glad that Kim Luker isn't running. I guess she remembered what happened to last year's School Board President and didn't want to face the embarrassment of being voted out. I guess she took one for the team

Jim Stephens is a disappointment. He drank the elitist cool aidde and forgot that he was there to represent the people not help Bob Nole make a good living. His vote to extend Bob Nole's contract is going to cost him this election. Beth Soggs is the next one who needs to shown the door.

I'm ready to give Ralph Fusco and Pam King a try.

I would vote for whoever puts more sports programs in. You need more sports entertainment in that area. Clearly. There's just not enough superficial glory yet.

The one thing Kim Luker did accomplish was to stop Beth Soggs from texting throughout the board meetings. Oh the examples we set for the youth of today. I digress, did you see the board meeting online where Ed Flemma kept asking about the Board President's authority to act on behalf of the Board without ant Board approval? Makes you wonder how long this has been going on. Did the past President do the same thing? Well it certainly is time for change and for the full Board to accept the fiduciary responsibilities to the community. If you want the position, then you take on everything that goes with the position. Yes, I know there are things you can change - like extending the Superindent's contract and things you can't, like firing Mr. Alvanos unless all union rules are followed.

You are always going yo have parents who feel their kids are the best players, but really should be sitting the bench. This has always been an issue and not just at NH. However, when it involves the AD and his friends, maybe rules need to be but in place. Oh wait, there are, they just weren't followed... Another reason for change.

Vote for those with integrity and promote team work in order to accomplish the goal of improving the all around education at NH! Pay attention where signs are and if two candidates are being represented, do they both represent what you want for your next Board?

This practice has been going on since the 80s. New Hartford is and always will have that hoity toity attitude. It's all about fittin gin and being in the clique.
