Last year the citizens of Utica voted by referendum to require city workers live in the city.

What our city says and what are city does is two different things. They would rather stab you in the back than do the right thing. Roefaro really threw us over the cliff in which we can't recover from. His public safety contracts in which he signed before he spent all the money and quit will add a perrenial tax for taxpayers on these alone. Then we have to still have deal with the six million dollar debt he left and the $670,000 in mis-spent federal funds. Taxpayers are in a serious crisis, getting broker by the day and paying city workers to have it better than us.

Nothing is going to change unless the State Control Board comes in and takes over. It's been over ten years and all you hear are pipe dreams and lies with taxes going up and and and up. There are no new revenues, public safety still at 65% of the budget, failing DPW equipment, crumbling roads and infrastructure, dwiddling tax base, and more and more unsustainable unstructured unbalanced budgets. Face it Utica has a widening spending problem and absolutely no answers accept to raise taxes raise taxes and raise taxes well beyond 2% for years and years to come. 2% doesn't even cover the public safety raises, bennies, and pensions. How many years are you going to expect taxpayers to believe the same shit which makes us broker every single year.

what crazy is when these pension padders die their wifes take over reciveing the full check and i have seen many officers opt to get more money and when they pass away the wife is supposed to get nothing but that doesnt happen the wife gets the check anyways

the city has to look into that because some wifes are not supposed to get the check the officers opt to take more money out of their check so that they get more money and when they pass away the wife gets nothing but some officer opt to take out less and the wife gets the money when they pass away or is it the other way around in any event some wifes are not suposed to get the check but the people who oversee the payments let it slide

Of course we should but we all know they are all part of the friends and family plan. We don't have any leaders who are not and that look out for the traxpayers. Very sad living in Utica.

You'd better go out and enjoy a few dinners before the next budget and tax bills. Our tin men in the county and city have lost their hearts.

Your going to have to fight the public safety employees who get paid triple with the taxpayers get as the rush city hall at budget time to ask for more while you get less and the oppurtunity to pay more taxes for them. The inequality of pay has shifted higher towards public workers and less for the private sector because of Mayors like Roefaro who hand made lucrative contracts with the unions to intentionally harm taxpayers.

We never had the problems we have today we city finances.Julian had the water board money and Roefaro gave the unions what they wanted.Palmieri has no clue what to do to solve the problem.

It is a law that a husband can NOT do this without his wife's signed consent!!!!

Most wivies would sign their rights away!!!! The only time this could be done is if the husband was divorced from his wife and it was included in their Divorce agreement papers.

Learn the law before you make these blanket types of statements!
