NHYA keeps allowing players in fron other organizations. It has gotten to be so much that now they have 7 teams just in Mites & Squirts this fall. There is NO ice time left and they are now talking about less ice time for each team. Bad enough we only have 2 practices a week. Now they want to lessen that?? Is it really worth it??

Hockey is not like other sports like Football and baseball where everyone has a field. Kids can play where ever they want. Kids came in this year from utica and Whitestown and because of that my son did not make the team. It's no big deal, you get up and go else where. This has been happening for the past 30 years with hockey and can't do anything about it. Till USA hockey steps in and changes it, and it will never happen. We had more fun playing for a different team this year and still friends with many from NH. No one else has more than 2 practices a week and that will not change in NH either. There more than enough ice that they can buy. Your either I'll informed and just trying to make more out of this and looking for attention. You can't control who signs up so don't go blaming NH. We need players in Utica at that level so come on over if your so unhappy and bring friends. Just remember the grass isn't always greener. There's a lot of things that need to be changed in hockey but it ain't happening so try to deal with it or your be a old bitter person fast

Remember when NHYHA used to be just the classy NH residents and maybe a couple "allstar" players from other areas? No they just allow anyone in. I can't wait to see what type of ice time they will have with 15 teams and one rink.
We left NH last year, what a joke the board is.

"Classy"---LOL. You NH egotistical as-holes really think your sh-t don't stink. Take a look at your neighbors in foreclosure, kids drug dealing, and the increased crime. That is classy?? LOL

They had problems last year having to many teams and not enough ice time and the board said they would fix it. Is this your way of fixing it by adding even more teams and even less is time??
QUESTION: There are 4 more teams in NHYHA this year than there were 5 years ago. So why are we still payment the same registration? Thats over $6,000 more a year income yet we pay the same?

Who cares. Hockey is a rich people sport. stop whining. Look at the tv ratings. It's a sport that nobody really cares about.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Rich people? No. People who go without the things THEY might want so they can afford to pay for their kids to play a sport they love. The TV ratings do not speak for what is in a child's heart. Maybe you should give up some of your vices (like the cost of internet you use to bash others, booze, ciggies...) and be able to afford for your children to be involved in something.

Um, hello. More teams equals more ice time, more insurance, more teams in mandatory tournaments (JAM, sectionals, home tournies). Any money left over will go toward keeping fees at or lower next year. Just because you spend money you don't have doesn't mean NHYHA can do the same.

Hello. What part didn't you understand in my last post. You can't turn people away at registration because there from somewhere else and that there not just NH. Instead of being a whinning hockey parent, get on the board somewhere and help fix problems. You seem to have all the answers. Bet you never been to a meeting. There open to anyone. No one wants to help fix, they just want to bitch and be lazy a holes. Been in this for 12 years and these same people go from one place to another every year. 20 years ago we had 4 teams at every level in all 4 organizations and it worked. The new generation parents are lazy pieces of shit that think you need to cater to them. You wonder why hockey is fading away. Thank god I'm at the end because it is just getting so bad with whinners. In NH you get 2 practice slots and one home game slot on weekend. I was there for 10 years and thats what it is and will always be. Plus they have the cheapest rate to try to keep cost down because hockey is expensive no matter where you go. I could be bitter what happened to us but I make the best of every situation. You look at the glass half empty but thats probably the way you will live your life I'm guessing. I figure by the time your kid is 12 he will probably have worn all 5 local area Jerseys because you think the grass is greener. Good luck. There's lots of these type people out there

This goes to show you know absolutely nothing about the sport of Hockey. My Grandson in Vermont started playing on a Hockey Team when he was only 4 years old and as an adult of 21, he is still playing Hockey on a Adult Team for which he pays himself. During all these years of playing Hockey, he enjoyed playing on a Team that became the #1 State Champions, went to Hockey Camps in Toronto, and traveled all over - including Europe.

His family consists of his Mom and Dad (both work), and 4 siblings - far from being "rich". It all depends on what you want to spend your money one and what is important to the happiness of your family.

Anyone can join a Hockey Team - all you need is to want to learn, be a Team player, and be strong enough not to be a wimp when you fall down.(or get pushed down).

I gotta say something. I'm a 'hockey mom' and I absolutely HATE it! I HATE bringing my kids to the practices. I'd be happy just going to the game thing. I'm GLAD we 'only' have 2 practices. I can't stand it!!!

Thanks for letting me air this. I could NEVER state this to hubby or kids (or even some of the other moms). I cannot stand it! I always enjoy the LAST practice!

Most of u know me. For, I am YOU!
