Judging by attendance in general of most college games nationally I guess you could say that for most areas. College basketball is kind of popular.

. I bet you wouldn't draw 35000 in Florida. And Miami is pretty good!

Miami upset by Wake Forest, SU upset by G'Town. Tough loss for the Orangemen. Disappointing game overall. We will overcome.

SU is in for a rough stretch. Will probably lose 3 of final 4 games. GT Marq and Louv all look like loses. They have no 'big man' presence. Keita cannot handle the ball on offense and Christmas, although blessed with physical ability, looks like he was never on the court before.

The better teams have improved while SU has gone the other way.

This is such a stupid post. Drawing 35,000 people doesn't mean there's nothing to do in Syracuse. They drew 35,000 people because it was the last time SU and Georgetown would plah a Big East game at the Dome. Plus they are rivals as well. Boeheim does have well over 900 wins. Not too shabby.

He should coach rebounding ! They suck at it

I cannot believe that Boeheim did not put more pressure on Porter who went on to score over 30 points! He alone defeated the Orange, they have no hope in the tourney against well balanced teams.

SU is outrebounding their opponents 40 to 34.7 per game, however, Georgetown is better at that than us. Our problem yesterday was that we didn't stop their best player and their big guys played better than ours. Christmas looked like he had a hangover from the night before.

No interior game at all on either end of floor. Christmas is as soft as a marshmellow. MCW out of control, a turnover machine. And Triche should be the leader but he doesn't have that quality in him. As for Fair, he can't dribble at all. Shoot shoot shoot Suntherland. What is his shooting % about 20%? Team will not go long in tourney.

Here's the deal:

Brandon Triche & James Southerland tend to be streaky guys. You never know what kind of player they'll bring to the game. Be it a hot player or they struggle. Triche isn't too hot at the free throw line. His threes tend to be duds even if they look like it's going to hit the net. Now I'm not bashing either player but it's evident when you watch them play.

2-3 doesn't always work but SU knows no other

Rebounding is a lost art. Somewhere along the way, people forgot that you have to use your body, butt, whatever to push guys out of the paint. Today, they just stand there, look up, and jump. If you don't believe me, watch replays. NOBODY blocks out under the basket anymore, and it is not just SU. But, SU is doomed. They may make the sweet 16, but it will not be easy.

They are not as good as GT. But, SU is second in rebounding margin in the league; pretty good.

I didn't say they don't get rebounds. All teams get rebounds, just by standing still, then jumping up for the ball. I stated that they do not box out anymore.

Teams that play zone tend to give up more offensive rebounds. the reasoning is in man to man defense the defender has someone they are reponsible for and someone to box out. In a zone you are defending an area and sometimes no one to box out so the opponent can find a gap to squeeze into to contest for rebound
