Yankee, that was my point exactly. If we were trying to start up a new postal service to deliver paper advertising and a little bit of mail, we could never write a business case for it that would pass muster. The Postal Service needs to be redesigned to match the needs of the 21st century, not the 19th.

She set up Christine Dudeck(framed her for stealing)and in the process threw the postmaster under the Bus by working out of his drawer.
Christine was Fired, Postmaster is on Administrative leave, and Ms.Malichowski has come out smelling like a rose, Now she is a PSE and working as a Clerk.
I always knew Ms. Mailichowski was a smart woman but I did not know her morals were so low.

I have a very stressful job making barely above minimum wage and I have 8 years of college behind me and I'm still pleasant to everyone, especially people who are pleasant back. He makes
pretty good money for being a grump inside a small post office.
You know less than nothing about Postal Operations. And I have never witnessed the PM in Oriskany be unpleasant to anyone.

your premise is flawed, the constitution does not refer to "postal business" it is a "service" it is not meant to be profitable. which of the government services are profitable?

Yep...
Here is a good definition of the USPS...
http://www.allgov.com/departments/independent...

"The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an independent federal agency responsible for providing Postal Service for the United States. This is done through collecting postage for the mailing of letters and packages, sorting and delivering mail and selling post-related products like commemorative and collectible stamps, as well as postal supplies.

The Board of Governors of the USPS sets policy, procedure and postal rates. It has a similar role as a corporate board of directors. Of the 11 board members, nine are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. These nine appointed members then select the U.S. Postmaster General, who serves as the board’s tenth member. He or she also oversees the day-to-day activities of the Postal Service and acts as chief executive officer. The 10-member board then nominates a deputy postmaster general who acts as chief operating officer and takes the remaining seat on the board.

Although the USPS is often mistaken for a government-owned corporation like Amtrak, it is legally defined as an “independent establishment of the executive branch.” As a quasi-government agency, it has many special privileges, including sovereign immunity, eminent domain powers, powers to negotiate postal treaties with foreign nations, and an exclusive legal right to deliver First-Class and Standard Mail. In 2004, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the USPS was not a government-owned corporation and could not be sued under the Sherman Antitrust Act."

Was the post master the grumpy guy?
So maybe that was the day he found out his Son in law was injured in an IED attack in Afghanistan, or maybe it was one one of the many days leading up to or following one of his Son's several surgeries, or maybe he just got done listening to some inane drone complain about their latest QVC acquisition being four Goddamn seconds late. Or one of the local Jack Holes who refuse to use their PO box number as their address and complain when some fill in clerk returns their mail.
You non Postal Complainers have no idea what goes on.

Thank you to the community of Oriskany, I really did enjoy my time there. I had to give up the fight for my job, in order to accept a plea for the criminal charges. I was to afraid to fight and lose. I am a mother of three young children, learned a very valuable lesson about gift cards. The "intent" to steal a gift card is now considered grand larceny under NYS law. I know people who really know me, understand this is not something I would do. It is now hopefully over for me. Again thank you to everyone who helped, prayed and care for me!
