What a waste of grants and private lenders. Utica is like a used up Italian cracked whoore, getting screwed by black New York brothers. So true! These men should be ashamed especially the lenders.

I must say after traveling to upstate New York and bumping into a town called Utica New York I was quite hesitant to pull into exit 31 knowing that the tri - state area is laughing about the Utica Auditorium and the Utica sign. What the heck is wrong with your Italian politicians? Horrible horrible horrible for you to lie to Uticans about where the money came from to build the Utica sign.

I'm sure it still looks as atrocious as it did when I lived there! The aud is the only large venue in the area, and they keep it looking like a prison!

I would love to have seen the look on the Comet players' faces when they got their first glimpse at their new "home!"

i guess thats why they are about to redo the entire outside facade of the building next summer. as well as a new parking lot, suites, new rear entrance, expanded bathrooms, and a restaurant. they can only do these improvements because of a major tenante like the comets.

My filthy disgusting mother and coward father live on welfare, We are the low tech failures of life.

I live on topix because I can't afford gas to get a life or have the brains to do anything but let my gutless daddy bend me over in the basement.

Someday I will post my address so a real man can knock my welfare skull in.

I love the smell of mom, she is the only p i g that lets me in.

If whoever was involved had a clue, the building would be torn down and a new one would be built. The place is an eyesore and is not suited for high level hockey, it's just not.

That would still leave the vacant lots to the west, and the crumbling warehouses across the street to the south. Not to mention the raggedy trees on the median for the boulevard that just serve as a bathroom for thousands of crows!

Thats the outside of the building, you need to go inside..... its night and day difference. the only problem with the building is that its too small. they need another 1000 seats in it at the least. obviously you have not been in the building recently.....

i guess it comes down to who owns the building. same with the carrier dome. i always thought the college owned it, but from that article it appears diffidently. the state supports projects like these because it bring income into a city in the form of business and in taxes.

Why are county taxes being used to fund AUD?
Let the state, city, comets, UC, and private investors pay for any AUD related business improvements.

I am very aware of what the building looks like inside. It's unfit for professional hockey - not enough room for players to change or for an adequate training facility, the ice is sub par as well. I have been almost every barn in the AHL over that past 2 seasons. The Utica rink is laughable. Tear it down and start over.

Actually, it's not 'your' it's 'you're'- so, really, WHO IS the idiot here?

The room is barley adequate. Have you seen it in use? Truthfully, have you? I have.

IF the people running the team are SERIOUS about doing things the RIGHT way, then they need a new barn. Obviously, they'd build on the grounds near the rink and the city would have to raise/borrow/or be granted funds to build a new barn. If I have been in ECHL barns that blow away the Comets home rink.
