I was in town for the weekend, wow the pizza is the worst it has ever been. Don't business owners take pride in their product anymore

Then you probably went to Venice, Sicilian Delight or Italian Chef!

Travel out of state and you'll find nowhere that has pizza (or any Italian) better than we have here. Trio's is the best locally.

You can't base all pizza on eating from one pizzeria.

We do have the best Italian food here but I don't know about the pizza-probably because so many of the pizzerias here are owned by lunatic cokeheads!

well i know that we have some of the best pizza and food. try going to another state and see what you get there. and if you still feel about the food here i would say that maybe you should brown bagf it next time you come here.

No it's not. It was very good on the whole 15-20 years ago but the quality has gone down hill and every jamoke in town is now making it. It has fallen off.

There are a few good places left but taken as a whole, utica has gone downhill pizza-wise much like everything else in Utica.

Everyone has their own tastes for everything. It is just stupid to start a thread saying all pizza in Utica is awful, as moronic to say that all pizza in Utica is great. Everyone enjoy and patronize your favorite pizza place and have a nice day.

I'm sorry, boys and girls, but the Italian food in this area, including pizza, is sub-par.

I totally agree you can't find good pizza outside of New York State. However, within New York State, you must travel downstate to enjoy great Italian food.

Little Italy in Manhattan is the place to go for Italian food, hands down. Most pizza shops in Brooklyn and Queens were great, although I haven't been there in a few years. Anywhere in lower Westchester & Rockland Counties is great as well. The common thread is that they all know how to make pizza.

Up here, they don't know how to make Sicilian pizza and they don't know how to make calzones. Here's a clue, pizza guys: calzones start with ricotta & mozzarella cheese, not just mozzarella.

DRN, had a fantastic dinner at 'Il Palazzo', Mulberry Street, Little Italy, last Summer. Sooo great, give it a shot sometime. As far as this area there are some places which are very good in my book, I will not name them because bashing will ensue.

Oh, and btw....as far as Utica, the city proper, I think Palermo's and O'scugnizzo's (Bleeker only) are very good. Very different from each other but very good.
Oh no- not again

Palermo's is quite good. I like Italian Chef's wings. Pizza in New York as a whole is different from what you would find out west (where I am from). It does taste better. I have eaten pizza in Little Italy and frankly it is not any better than the pizzas I have eaten at Palermo's. Sorry guys, maybe I just don't have a developed Italian food palate.
