You will not find one true italian place totally run or cooked by an italian person or family in the area.

Bella Cucina is the closest you will find. If authentic Italian was put in front of you, you couldn't eat it.

if you are looking for real italian food in utica, stop looking. you wont find it. you need to travel downstate for rel italian food. The funny thing is that Upstaters really think that they are living it up. These are the most backward azz people in New York. They love pizza without cheese(tomato pie?) and are impressed with peasant quisine. Downstaters that come here just laugh at these upstate Italians like they are a bunch of trailer trash and these are New Hartford residents. They all think and move slow like someone spiked the water with Ritalin. I wish you hicks luck and keep eating that award winning Iron Chef Mr. Chef BoyArdee

You have proved yourself a buffoon. Those of us that actually understand good Italian food realize that the peasant dishes, done corectly, are the best art in today's food preparation. It is exactly the peasant food to which all of the great chefs aspire. You, sir, know nothing of which you speak.
Sorry

You have very aptly named yourself. I read two of your posts but I was not able to discern any point relating to the subject at hand. You seem to know a great deal about me but nothing about Italian cuisine. We'll undoubtedly not hear from you in the future. Does anyone care to refute my point?

Many bosnian chefs are very learned in Italian food, get a map out and look at Italy and Bosnia and see if this tells you anything.

Try Daniel's on the parkway. Try Bella Cuchina. Italian Cafe on Mohawk and James st. The Restaurant next to the Stanley. Giorgios. If you are not a true Italian, then what the heck would you know! Different parts of Italy cook a little differently. We are not just meat and potatoes people. You have no idea what you are talking. You are probably so used to Ragu that when you try something true Italian it doesn't taste. Spread your wings you poor soul!!
