The "out" is after four years. Three years from now. You're on the wrong side of the six years.
It's two.

As much as I hate Riggies (Dave Smith they say his name is?) he is right about westward AHL expansion. However, everything at this point is all talk but it is gaining som traction.

I love the Comets and have season tickets this year. However, I couldn't ignore a couple articles written in April stated that LA, San Jose, Anaheim, Phoenix, Vancouver, and Colorado all were in discussions to move their AHL teams on the west coast for a Pacific division. The team at the helm of discussions is LA with San Jose and Vancouver presumably on board but neither team stated so publicly (that I could find).

These 6 NHL teams have talked about succeeding from the AHL to create their own league on the west coast. In all honesty idc who our parent club is, I just hope we keep the AHL in Utica. Hopefully if Vancouver leaves in 2015 or 2016 another NHL club will move their AHL team into the Aud.

Not eating any crow at all actually. Was I off by a year? Perhaps? Why hasn't the second phase of impostor men's been done to the aud? Why do the Canucks have an out after two years? Why is the ahl creating a pacific division for 2015? Those are the questions you need to remember. Enjoy the giant year if it even happens.
they are trying to form a western confrence hopefully intime for 2015-2016 but it will be more likley to happen in 2016-2017 season........and theres a big differance between TRYING and ARE forming a western conference for 2015-2016. but the ground work has been laid. the biggest issue appears to be the fact that some west coast teams do not own their ahl team.

CNY is ignored for a reason.
I love how you duck the question when you have no answer...you do it quite regularly.

Please answer the question.

Answer the question? Ok. Taxpayer money in NYS invested wheres it's viable. It's viable in the capital district as it's a growing and flourishing region. The utica region certainly is not considering you need to pump in refugees for a money supply and the biggest business talk is the possibility of a convenience store which is raising opposition. Answered enough for you?

Once the westward expansion happens the smaller market teams will leave. In NYS I suspect binghampton, glens falls, and utica.

Every year, there are many articles on AHL western expansion. The AHL President certainly supports this, but has stated on a few occasions that it would have to be done correctly and in the right locations.
The latest word on western expansion is that the Canucks have cooled on the idea and may let the California teams and Phoenix initiate a four team conference, see how things go, and then make a decision to move.
In reality, the most recent Calgary-Adirondack contract (not made public) probably mirrors the Canucks-Comets one: three more years until the "out" clause kicks in, with an option for two more years (for a total of six in the Comets case).
If the Cali-Phoenix relocation takes hold, the Flames and the Canucks will call their teams home, either in three or five years.
There's a one year out on the flames glens falls contract.

Ugh I really hope I don't have to become a Crunch fan lol. I may just leave the AHL alone and go to Buffalo when my team goes there if Vancouver does eventually leave Utica. Hopefully that day never comes. Long live the Comets!

OK....

Below is a conversation carried out by Jason Botchford, the beat writer for the Canucks.

All of this took place on April 14, the day before the City of Abbotsford called a press conference to announce the Heat were leaving.

Spelling and grammar are as is from the twitter feeds. You can find the reference here: https://twitter.com/botchford/status/45585005...

Dude 1: With Abby being reported on moving to Glenn's Falls, do you have any knowledge on the out-clause for Van in Utica?

Botchford: I don't believe they're interested

Dude 1: Why the change? Last summer it was reported wanted a 1 year deal with Utica

Botchford: like their deal, hate Abby's travel sked. 85 nights in hotels

Dude 1: Who's paying for Utica's travel? Utica or Van? I know Van runs their Hockey Ops but Utica takes care of business

Botchford: I'm talkin for development reasons and practice time not $$

Dude 1: Okay, thanks, makes sense. I thought they ultimately wanted their prospects in their backyard for call up reasons?

Botchford: sounds like an assumption

Dude 1: CanucksArmy reported you said Utica is seen as a short-term stopgap to find a western-based home team

Botchford: if so it was before I saw the six year deal

Comets Army Guy: I've talked with some people high up in the organization, it's a 6 year deal w/ 4 years guaranteed

Botchford: ya

Taxpayer money is invested in the capital district because of crooks like Joe Bruno. Don't even try and deny that one. He was forced out of office and is still being brought up on corruption charges.

Right, the same source you used, incorrectly by the way. What a Queen Douche.

Don't worry, I found the source, and you're wrong again. You can take your made-up source and mix it with some more vinegar and re-insert.

Is it June already? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
