At least it won't be an ugly vacant building ready to collaspe in the heart of "downtown" Utica anymore.

Hats off to the new owners that have the money and time to bring this once beautiful building back to life.

Be thankful for this instead of being so negative.

LOL! Awesome"? A guy buys a building for $250k, it gets ripped off, the city takes the building from him and sells it for $1000?
The building has been brought to death not "back to life" imbeciles. They already have the marble sold. Good luck with the major major major supercondooper parking lot.
Uticans. You all know what happens next here, same old same old scams.

I'm sure that will instill such confidence in anyone thinking of investing three cents in utica. Goombahs need only apply of course.
Watch in a year there will be no imaginary revitalization project these stupid uticans just keep falling for the same rehash of the same three schemes.

The city of Utica should be bending over backwards to help this deal go through. They were looking at an expensive nightmare and now this project can be part of Utica's revitalization. Sounds awesome and I wish the developer all the best.

"sounds" awesome to uticans. This is a sell&shell and has been stated so already by people who know the real plans. You people are so desperate for an "awesome revitalization" you'll believe anything. Good luck with the big revitalization.
Marble for sale lol!

What is the distance from a school or church where alcoholic beverages can be sold?
Alcoholic beverages cannot be offered for sale within 400 feet of a school, church, kindergarten, children’s day care or a funeral home. The minimum distance is measured from the nearest point to the nearest point of the permittee’s establishment and the church, school building, etc.

Comical how you can say to a uticam "revitalization" and suddenly it makes them all think of a bar with a liquor license. That's a PhD to uticans I guess.

Here's the deal, $1000 for building, 10's of thousand for the Marble, then screw the city and let them take it back. Duh, another smoke screen people of how the city operates.

They measured it already it's 168ft from corner to corner. No license. Marble sake and shame for the taxpayers for letting the city steal a property and give it to friends.

This is why no large corporations will go there.

I didn't see your offer. Same old Utica grudges. Can't be happy for someone. If the NY Giants were going to come here, you would complain.

The negative people are starting to loose and the positive people are starting to win. It must suck for you. The sad thing if everyone used their talent to do something positive to help the city,we would be unstoppable.
But the negative nellies choose a more self serving agenda, filled with hate, anger, jealousy and despair. Sad. Very sad.

Welcome to utica, pal get used to the negativity for it pervades almost everything and everyone here....

Ok People, here is the truth. The building was NOT ripped off. The old owner made it clear that when he bought it the recycling value was much more than he paid. He STRIPPED the building, it was not stolen. Many local businesses saw it done during the day. If it was stolen, would the thieves cap the "stolen" roof drains to keep water out? I think not! There is no smoke screen here. You have a business that has restored properties in the past, is not behind on any loans and creates jobs. They deserve the chance. the Marble on the side is covering up the original building and I hope they remove it. Finally, the 200 ft rule is not absolute. I call the liquor authority and spoke to a "karen". You can have it near a church, pending on the structure, times, etc. Also, the roof is past the 200 ft mark and it is possible it would be allowed, pending city approval. Stop being so negative. Finally, 1000 dollars is too much. It will take MILLIONS of personal money to restore that building. If you thin kit is cheap, offer more! or shut up! Good Luck people, it is Utica, the mean income is about 35,000, but i wish you well....

Why would anyone buy this building, it will take about $ 500.000 TO BRING IT UP TO CODE. Place is loaded with MOLD, Basement is flooded, Beams that support roof are compromised, People buying building KNOW that by selling that marble that it will bring about $40,000 in cash. and the city will give them grant money.

Fact is this will leave Utica holding the bag. on a useless building.
Sorry but not a grudge, Just facts, That the Mayor is doing some back door deals, After everyone is done slapping each other on the back, Telling each other what a great deal this is, then 3 to 5 years when nothing happens, You will see something is JUST not right whit this deal.
