Palmieri staes city is on the road to recovery.HMM
He said he marketed the Harza Bldg well yet Claak was the only one interested in the bldg and he got it dirt cheap.HMM
He said Bossert property will have commercial development yet a used car lot is planned there.HMm
Palmieri states he will be selling the Cosmopolitan Center yet it was given to a constuction company for peanuts. HHM

Alternative:
Harza Building still empty.
Bossert site still empty (Not a used car place coming, an auto parts company).
Cosmo Center can't find buyer.
City is a wreck, Palmieri must go!

Positive steps, Pete. Enjoy 'em.

Positive is in the eyes of the beholder. What is the cost to the taxpayer? Would a better effort result in better results where give aways and taxpayer subsidies are not require to do a development? Are maybe 50 people relocated into the downtown worth a $3.5 million taxpayer gift, a $250,000 taxpayer grant and tax subsidies. Is Mr. Clark subsidizing his rent or his hamburg prices? Is Utica simply in a beggars can't be choosy situation?

You bet it's in the eye of the beholder. YOU have the choice. We ALL have the choice. Wallow in negativity or take the small victories as positive steps. What's the cost to the taxpayer if the Harza Building stays empty? And how about when more tenants come in to the building?

It's been awful for so long yet people piss and moan about everything: Nicky Doodles, new California Pizza, maybe Olive Garden coming, Harza Development, etc.

I meant for the area, not just IN Utica and there the California-type pizza joint that opened on Genesee Street, near the Hall of Fame and Utica Coffee.

1,000 jobs could come to Utica -- or the area -- and you'd blow it off.
